I know there are a lot of 2012 hopefulls chatting but unfortunately I have just started on my journey and hope to start taking my pre-req's this summer. Anyone else in the same boat?

I am taking my pre- requisites also. I applied for the fall but did not get in. I will try again for the spring. Good luck to you! I have finished my pre req's as of this semester. I am going to take Microbiology over because I feel that this is what held me back on my score.

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Moved to TN Nursing Programs for more response from some TN nursing student hopefuls.

Good luck on your journey!

Good for you for starting this thread. It is right on time. I know that we have talked before and you are on the right path for sure. Keep in touch with me with your summer classes. Besides A&P I, did you decide on any other other classes? I hope to hear from you soon. Good luck to you and if you keep the attitude you have, I know you will be successful in your journey as long as you keep the faith.

Hey everyone i was trying for 2013 spring but i would be pushing it. i have a question what if you have done the pre-reqs and planning to start planning for the nursing program fall 2013 can u just go on taking classes? what if you took all the classes that's required except for Nursing classes will they allow you to still take any while waiting?

yes, of course. you can take whatever classes you want while waiting to be accepted. if you are planning to get your rn-bsn or rn-msn, it may be a good idea to take any classes this fall that you do not already have. and if there are any classes that you do not get out of the way this fall, you will have 2 summer sessions to complete them before you graduate from the nursing program.

Thx Nikkih901 are u in the program?

Yes, I am. I will be retaking Adult Health I and OB this Fall.

if i had took everything except the courses that i have to take was im accepted into the program how long would i have in the fall 2013 program? I calculated maybe 30 credits before then. Is it hard? Do you work and go to school? I stop working so I could be dedicated to this only. I hope all is well, I see you have to take 2 course again. Plz if its no problem could you just give me the downlow. So I can try my best to be on point. Thx for replying.

Hey Im pretty much there too. Maybe I will see you at school. Good luck on your journey. Let God guard u.@pcarter

The STCC Nursing program is 2 years/4 semesters. In my opinion yes, Nursing school is very hard. But obviously it is doable.

As I stated on another thread, I was dismissed from the program because I failed the 2 classes that I will retake this Fall. If I had not failed those classes, I would be graduating this Fall. However, with 2 academic failures you automatically have to sit out of the program for 2 semesters. I was working a full time and part time job and just simply doing too many other things outside of school. Not working is not an option for me however, I will definitely quit my part time job once Fall session starts.

Hey Nikki, Just wante to let you I am still hanging in there and actually did take the professor that you recommended and I loved him. Thank you I plan on taking micro and anp 2 in the fall. I did want to get some clarity though, I will be done with my pre-req's needed for the program by december. So I can take any of the other nursing classes needed before being accepted into the program. Also how long does it take entrance test results to come back
