Hi everyone,
I'm exploring the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (RN) program offered at Southside Virginia Community College. The program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills for professional practice in various healthcare settings and includes preparing for the NCLEX-RN exam.
Applications for the August 2024 term opened in February 2024. The program spans 67 credit hours and seems quite comprehensive, covering a wide range of training, including Practical Nursing, Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, and Phlebotomy.
Key outcomes include a 3-year NCLEX-RN pass rate at or above the national average, 60% program completion within three years, and 80% of graduates employed within six months post-graduation.
Has anyone here applied to, or graduated from, this program? I'd be interested in hearing about your application experience, the rigor of the coursework, clinical rotations, and how well it prepared you for the NCLEX and your subsequent career. Any insights into faculty support and overall student satisfaction would also be greatly appreciated.
