I'm currently studying for the HESI A2. During an info session I was told that student take up to 2 weeks to study there's a lot of material so take your time studying. I think once you pass the HESI you're pretty much good to go! I'm planning on starting in December in Ontario 🙂

Oh that's awesome! Good luck on your HESI exam! I took the HESI back in April! I know you didn't ask, but Nurse Shai on YouTube and nursehub helped me alot! I'm currently studying for the interview and hoping to go to school in December 🙂

Thank you. I got 87.4 overall I think.

Thank you. I got 87.4 overall I think. I prepared for my interview by looking up interview questions for nursing school and YouTube interviews. I also practiced in the mirror and wrote all my questions down. But I didn't get in. I'm not sure why. I got As in all my prereqs and was prepared for the interview. I had transfer credits.  It was really expensive so honestly, there was no love lost there.  I'm just very curious why I didn't get in. I was in the Los Angeles location but GCU offered me a scholarship to go to their ABSN program in Las Vegas but I don't really want to move and I can't seem to find grad rates anywhere for them anyone heard of them?

How weird? Did you have a previous medical experience? Did they mention why you didn't get in?

Yes.  I was in a previous nursing program in a community college but got an excused withdrawal and it was a year I couldn't go back there. Someone really close passed away and I was just trying to hold it together but I didn't want to also let go of my dreams I wasn't doing well while I was there. I couldn't explain that in my interview because it was a group interview. I also had a medical assisting degree in 2004.  I emailed the interviewer if she could give me any advice on how to improve for the future but didn't hear from them.  Their grad rate was 71 percent at 100 percent time but 94 at 150 percent time. So I mentioned it and asked what those people had trouble with that they couldn't graduate on time and they seemed to have gotten really upset about it but the info was given to me by them in their application. They kept asking me where I got the numbers and I showed them, it was in their application. I don't know I think I have a tendency of pissing people off and I don't mean too.

Yoman - Wow I see... I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm so sorry for your lost, I really hope you're doing better now. Yes, they do seem sensitive about that question. It's hard to find information on their ADN program or students. I asked the same question on the day of my HESI and they seem to avoid answering the question. So I didn't ask further. I do think that is a valid question for us future students to ask though. It's just my advice, but I do think you should and can try to apply again. At least I would try again. Are you trying out for other ADN programs around the area?
