Every so often I'll hear lyrics on songs on the radio that remind me of nursing... Here's a couple of examples I've heard on the radio recently, unfortunately I can't remember who sings either of 'em...:monkeydance:
"I am barely breathing, and I can't find the air..."
"I have become, comfortably numb..."
Anyone got any more?
"blinded by the light "was written and performed by bruce springsteen, and
also done by manfred mann in a slightly different version.
" i don't want to go to rehab" is done by amy winehouse, incidently before she recently went to rehab.
happy holidays !!!!
i hope that whichever holiday you work is peaceful!!
I'm feeling cynical tonight. One of the guys on night shift always sings this line from some redneck song, goes something like:
"Up against the wall, redneck mothers. Mother that I never had before."
When we're drowning in pts and ambulances he starts singing this. Kind of tells us all the stuff is hitting the fan.
"Superfreak" by Rick James is a good one for our weirder clientele and their perineal symptoms.
Ooh, ooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell?
Ooh, ooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you.
--Lynyrd Skynyrd
The first 3 lines hit me EVERT time I work a "code brown"
the last line would be for a particulary bad shift, or maybe if you work the morgue.
(i think i gave up my geographical location with this post)
