..I knew this was coming, so i guess on the back i got "near passing standards" on all topics except one, pharmacology.-which i got "below", so at least that gives me a focus--I bought that Kaplan strategies book and so far its great. --I am still discouraged, but anxious to test again. Im planning on march 10th or so.--
Im going to take this weekend off, with a child coming next month and a possible (adoption) coming later this year, AND with a 2 year old already ruling my house, A weekend off--wont seem like selfish of me.

Wow. You do have a lot on your plate. I believe you will do well the next time because now you know how to focus. PRACTICE those questions and answers. Good luck.

Good luck on taking again. Just relax, focus on the question at hand, and don't think about anything else. I will be taking mine in June - July (or August), so good luck and keep us all informed!

Hi Jon. I am happy that at last you have the results. Like you I think that not knowing is worse than knowing, because now you can take action. I wish you luck in retesting and to you and your family in general :).

Hey,
I just wanted to say, hang in there. You will be a nurse! I also agree with you that a little break from it all will be very benefical to you and your family. I found out that I didn't pass Jan. 31st. I took my test on Jan 29. So I understand how disheartening not passing can be. So be encouraged! You can do it!!!

hey John
If you want I can send you my study guide for pharma. It's about 20 pages !! Write me if you do!!
..Thank you all, and thank you amy12345..for the offer, I just bought (like right now) at borders, the kaplan med-flash card box for like 30 bucks...I think it will help me, also that kaplan strategies book is just the best !..i cant put it down since i got it off amazon and it came on weds. im learning more in that book for 20 bucks than i did at my NCLEX reviw course for a week in san francisco !!!
Im in "baby" mode, we dont know what we are getting next month, OR the baby we are adopting later this year
So in the mix between Meds, and psych questions
we have to finalize baby names !!!! :)

Please take the time and review everything, the exam that you get next will not be anything like the one that you just had, even the questions that are available will be new by the time that you test.
You need to prepare as if you have never taken the exam before.
Best of luck to you.
( And with the results that you did get, would recommend that you spend longer preparing rather than trying to get the exam done as soon as possible. Being near passing is still not passing, so it was not just one section that you did not pass, but all of them. You are going to need to spend more time preparing and with what you have on your plate right now, it is going to be hard for you to get thru this without properly preparing. I wish you the best of luck and do hope that you can pass it the next time, but do not look at it as almost passing in some, they still are not passing.
You need to understand what the exam is looking for in an answer, not what you did in school. Does not matter if you were the top student in your class, they still have even more issues with this exam.
But you will not be doing yourself any favors if you do not prepare properly this time around, there are many that are counting on you to pass.

Glad to hear you will keep trying.
I graduated, failed NCLEX then had a baby a few months later. I know exactly how you feel. And also being a male I got the same flack, looser, lazy, I need therapy. Reading your other posts was like I had written them.
What I didn't see much of in terms of advice in your other posts was that you had the right to feel the way you do. Somebody's skipping over the therapeutic communication section in the Saunders book. I doubt "you need therapy, or quit whining" would be a correct response on NCLEX.
You've invested a great deal of time and money for something that did not produce. What seperates you(us) from a job is a test that doesn't quite jive with how you were trained in school. Not too hard to figure out why that situation sucks.
Anyway, again glad to hear you will continue to pursue. I know all too well what you are going through.
Good luck.
