So, I applied at NYP as a 1 Year experienced Nurse

Published

I am currently a Med Surgical nurse in one of the health system Hospitals. I have one year experience under my belt. Graduated with a BSN in 2012. I applied last week to NYP and I already had an interview on the phone with a recruiter today. I took the Nurse Battery test as well. weird behavioral questions by the way! She offered me a position in Medical Step down @ NYP Columbia University. I have to meet with the Nurse manager next week. Is this process too fast? anyways, has anyone out there been thru this process with NYP? any advice, insights? I am excited, but a little nervous especially about the commute. Is Medical step-down like another Medsurg? or is it more like a specialized area. Never heard of it.

Thanks ALOT!

Omggggg congrats...I've been applying and nothing. The website won't let me upload my resume

I had the same problem the other day. I tried uploading my resume and it kept hanging in processing with that turning wheel in the corner of the screen. I tried the next day and succeeded. Must have been a temporary thing.

Well, Keep trying. I just got a called from NYU- LMC as well. Stonybrook University Hospital too. I guess the job market for the RN's is growing up again! HooorAYY to us!

I'll keep trying to apply.

I'm hoping so. I'm going to apply to NYU as well

RN market is looking good in NYC again. I left my job at upstate NY with 2 years experience and I was looking for work for a month and half actively. I got calls from NYP, NY Methodist, Sloan Kettering and Mount Sinai for interviews. :) In the end, I accepted the offer from Sloan Kettering for their awesome reputation.

Hi all,

Does anyone have any feedback on NYP Lower Manhattan? I know that NYP acquired it over a year ago and was wondering if anyone has worked there since NYP took over and if there are any thoughts?

Thanks!

I just got the email from NYP to take the battery test after they sent me 2 emails for 2 other positions that I was not chosen for.

Also is anyone going to the experienced critical care nurse open house on apr 3rd at NYP? Sucks that you have to apply online and wait for a call back for an invite smh.

I took their battery test the day after I applied for 5 positions. Only 3 of those applications passed the online screening process and actually ended up as 'applied' ... I have since received 2 emails stating that 2 of those 3 positions are now closed. So 1 application right now waits in the wings ... :p

Hey guys, those hired to nyp what was the timeline between being interviewed and hired, I interviewed for a position last week and they said it would be a week or two before they decide. Any info would be helpful

I was interviewed for a position and waited for 2 weeks but they decided to go with another candidate. Then they immediately offered me with another interview but I already accepted a offer from somewhere else.

0907 did they contact you to tell you they went with somebody else or did you have to contact them?

The HR lady emailed me about the decision and asked if I am interested to set up another interview for a different position.
