Congratulation! I would also like to post something as well because this forum helped me a lot while I was studying. I passed the ANCC FNP this morning (5/1/17). To be honest, I think it was a very fair exam. For most of the questions, you are immediately able to strike out two of the answers out of four. Of course, it helps to know the material, but if you dont you still have a 50/50 chance of getting the right answer. The time was my biggest issue; I was able to finish all 200 questions in three and a half hours with only 30 minutes left to review the marked questions. I didn't have time to review all my marked questions before the time was out. That being said, you have to pay attention to how much time you spend on each question, select the correct answer and quickly move on. I totally agree the exam was 50% clinical and 50% nonclinical. I did Fitzgerald review through my FNP program - I went over all the videos twice (one time for the class, once on my own before it expired). I read through the Fitzgerald book in details from cover to cover one more time. I did all FNP Mastery app questions- which helped me the most and then I kept doing the questions until I got up to 91% overall correct. I bought the Leik book and wasn't a fan cause the material was outdated and I got frustrated figuring what was outdated and what wasn't. The week before the exam, I also purchased the aanp-fnp questions- I didn't like their questions, or much of their rationale either but the only positive aspect was the format, which was the most comparable to the exam. I did 100 questions each day for 3 days leading up to the exam day, then the day before the exam I did 200 questions in 2 hours, so I knew how it would feel getting through the process. I spread my studying over 5 month period- while working a full time 12 hour shift job, went to Japan for a week and finally buckle down to study from mid- March and all of April. The only advice I would give for those who are going to take the exam- do yourself a favor- get the FNP Mastery app; two of my classmates and I solely used this app for questions and we all passed.

I was called for a interview for NYM last month and went there. I was offered the position on the spot and HR called me a week after but I declined the offer as I accepted another offer somewhere else.

I was accepted to my university with a nutrition major. I wasn't planning to go there at all until I saw the unbeatable financial package...I called admission office and got my major changed to nursing. The lady was blah blah blah how to hard to get in and I basically told her that if I don't get into the program...I just won't go to that college...simple as that. They called me back within a few days that I got into the program over the phone and send me the acceptance letter. That was just my personal experience. Yes, if I were in your situation, I will call the dean of the college and tell him/her about your situation because that that is just simply wrong....they owe you an explanation seriously...

Nothing makes me more happier to hear other nurses get job offers....cause....it means there are opportunities out there for all of us.

The HR lady emailed me about the decision and asked if I am interested to set up another interview for a different position.

I was interviewed for a position and waited for 2 weeks but they decided to go with another candidate. Then they immediately offered me with another interview but I already accepted a offer from somewhere else.

RN market is looking good in NYC again. I left my job at upstate NY with 2 years experience and I was looking for work for a month and half actively. I got calls from NYP, NY Methodist, Sloan Kettering and Mount Sinai for interviews. :) In the end, I accepted the offer from Sloan Kettering for their awesome reputation.

You have to forward that question to your admission office...as for my school, any course taking outside of school with the final grade C+ above will be considered a transfer class and will NOT change the GPA with the university. In other words, it is just a passing grade to them and counts as transfer credits.

i will try to answer your question from my personal experiences if that is okay with you. I used to do work study at a student service office for my nursing college and worked closely with admission into the school at a major university. For that being said, I think it is great that you will receive 3.3 GPA and the fact that you are male student. I think your gender makes a great selling point for them to consider you talking from a diversity point of view. I am not from Binghamton University but I would say that you have a fair chance of getting into a school with a 3.3 GPA. I could tell you that your grade will probably not stand out from the rest of applicants. Your biggest chance in get into the school will be your gender, your determination and your networking/connection/recommendation in the college. I really hope it helps. PS- if you are willing to move for your nursing major and apply to more colleges in state or out state will help too.
