SLU AMSN 2016!!

Published

Hi!

I have been checking to see if anyone had started a discussion board for those admitted to SLU for the AMSN program for this fall but no luck yet so I decided to create my own! I was admitted to St. Louis University's AMSN program a week or so ago and I'd love to connect to any other people who have been admitted too! Can't wait to get started and meet everyone! If any current students have any suggestions or advice about succeeding in the program please feel free to comment. I'm sure I'm going to need it lol

Hello Annalisasmiles!

Congratulations! I to applied to the AMSN program, but I am waiting to hear back. Scott from the graduate office informed me that the board will be meeting again in late April for another round of decision making. Wish me luck!

Hi First2gradschool!

I'm graduating from the program this week. If you have any questions send me a PM.

I was accepted to the 2016 class as well! I can't wait to meet everyone and get started this fall!

I can't wait either!! I want it to be fall already so we can all meet each other and get started!

Awesome thank you! I will do that!

Hello Annalisasmiles! Also, I am writing to anyone else who has been accepted to SLU's AMSN program.

Sorry I cannot be any help to you since I have not been admitted to SLU's AMSN program, but can you help me with a question I have? I will apply, God willing, to the 2017 class, and I am currently working on my personal statement. Since you have been admitted to the program, can you tell me what you focused on writing about in your personal statement and how many pages you made yours out to be? Your help is much appreciated!

Hi Paulysilver1!

For my essay I believe I wrote about a page and a half double spaced. When writing my essay I really tired to focus on why I wanted to go to nursing school and how many of my experiences lead me to my decision to become a nurse. Sharing experiences and how they relate back to nursing, I feel, make everyone's story unique and genuine :) good luck with the application process!

Thank you Annalisasmiles for your help! I will use this info in my personal statement. So far I wrote about my 5 year plans once I graduate from the AMSN program and why I decided on this trajectory. It reads somewhat stiff so anything that will make my story unique and genuine is much help. Congratulations on getting into the program! Good luck to you. Courage and persevere!

Hi Annalisasmiles!

Can you tell me how many pages was your resume and what all you included in it for your application to SLU's AMSN program?

Hi it will not allow me to PM you but I am very interested in the program and am curious about the level of difficulty. I do not have a science background and am nervous for the Fall quarter classes- Pharm & Patho- did you find these to be very challenging? Also, I plan on going on to get my DNP and am curious about the transition. Have you heard its a pretty easy transition or do they require a lot of work experience before applying? Thanks!
