My manager gave me a paper to sign saying 2 nurses said I was sleeping at the nursing station and ignoring my patient alarms. I told him I wasn’t even at the nursing station the entire shift and was sitting at the computer on wheels in front of my patients room. I was highly confused by this accusation and reached out to the nurses that were on shift and they admitted I wasn’t even at the nursing station and they never seen me sleeping.

I was still asked to sign a first warning. I am highly emotional over this accusation that is a lie and don’t think it’s fair. I can’t stop crying. 

Update! After an investigation, they threw out the write up!! I’m happy but still upset, my manager and employee relations haven’t talked to me. Only got a message that “after an investigation, we have decided to discard the write up”.

Congratulations for now. Obviously your manager is straight out of soap operas and did not repent. Do not have very high expectations of management in healthcare and continue to watch your back and build resume and rapport.

You will probably outlast your manager, so lay low and wait for her exit.

Wow!

My former nurse manager sent a memo out to all night nurses to be mindful and not sleep while on duty. We all,including her, knew the nurse that WAS sleeping.  The patient's family members and the aides would tell one er. The nurses that were not sleeping took offense to it. They wanted the manager to address that nurse only. I though the manager was fair but I could also see how it would offend the other nurses.

Yeah, no, that isn't an example of being fair. What adult wants to receive an email reminding them not to rob company time by sleeping on the job when they would never do such a thing? No one.

Sending it out in group format changes nothing; it has effectively been sent to every individual as if it applies to them.

Yea, I could see it too.  Such a horrible misconception on top of all the other things they think we may or may not be doing.  .......our patient's don't always trust us, our managers don't always trust us, just uggggghhh.....

Tell me again how long Nurses are Heroes lasted... smh
