Hi all,
Just thought I would start a thread to see who applied for the upcoming 2018 cohort. I also wanted to check in and see how your experience has been so far through the application process. As for me, so far, I think I'm doing really well! I scored a level 2 on the RN fundamentals exam, had a great interview, and now I'm locked in with my finances. Just waiting for the phone call from SJVC to tell me if I've been accepted or not.
I believe there are only 24 seats for the bridge program and over 100 applicants. It's more competitive than I thought, especially because it's a private college.
We're supposed to hear by October 15th. Good luck to everyone!! :)
Hi guys I am in the process of applying to the next year program. But I am worried about the school being private since I know a lot of them are not validated by the state when you try to go and get your license. Does anyone know if it is really accredited or not and if it would work to get your license in another state ? It's a lot of money to not be able to work as a nurse at any other state.
It is most definitely accredited! :)
Thank you for responding. You are so kind to us and responding and helping us through this process we are going through. I feel that typing to others that have gone through what I'm going through and who is going through what I'm going through makes it all a little easier to take in. I'm really nervous and hoping for a spot but with almost 200 applicants and only 24 spots. I feel like having lost most of my points in gpa area was a let down. I'm not sure if something in my interview would trigger me to feel that it went full points worth or not.The points for the fundamentals was a straight shot as long as you got 62% or higher. So matter what level you got as long as you received a level 2 you got the same points as someone who received a level 3. I hope I explained that right.
I enjoyed my interview and who I was Interviewed by. But I'm sure they all make everyone feel comfortable and at ease during the process.
The anticipation is going to kill me. Mid October can't come soon enough.
You are very welcome!!
I THINK I understand what you mean when you're talking about the levels of the funds exam, lol!
They recently implemented points for levels when you take the proctored tests. For each term, you will need to take an ATI proctored test. Level 1 is 2.5 points I believe, 4 points for level 2, and 5 points for level 3. They just started doing this with cohort 13.
I know it seems like forever, but it'll come by sooner than you know it
I'm really anxious as well. I'm trying to be very patient through the whole process. I figured they'd be doing more testing and interviews since the application date ended oct 2nd. Has anyone heard if there has been more than the 175 applicants. Next week won't come soon enough for me.
I believe the last group interviewed yesterday. A friend of mine was part of that group. Fingers crossed we get in.

Yes, I've spoken to a few instructors. Almost 200 applicants for the bridge program alone! So crazy.

It's accredited. You can find all of there information about it on the California Board of Registered Nursing.
If once you receive your RN license you can go to any state and apply for a licensure by endorsement.
