Hi all,
Just thought I would start a thread to see who applied for the upcoming 2018 cohort. I also wanted to check in and see how your experience has been so far through the application process. As for me, so far, I think I'm doing really well! I scored a level 2 on the RN fundamentals exam, had a great interview, and now I'm locked in with my finances. Just waiting for the phone call from SJVC to tell me if I've been accepted or not.
I believe there are only 24 seats for the bridge program and over 100 applicants. It's more competitive than I thought, especially because it's a private college.
We're supposed to hear by October 15th. Good luck to everyone!! :)
Has anyone received several emails about the importance of making sure finances are in order before being accepted into the program?
Yes I got one yesterday, I also emailed mitzi and all she told me was they will be making their decision soon! I hate the waiting too! I'm doing my best to not think about it if that's even possible !!
I can't believe I did not get one!Did everyone already see financial aid as well?
Yes I met with financial aid same day as my interview, BUT I hadn't applied for a loan yet and I applied through sallie May friday and the representative told me that the school can see I guess if we applied?
So maybe that's why I got an email I'm not really sure about everyone else ?... does anyone have to take an extra class IF they got accepted ? I was told one class didn't satisfy their requirement so I have to take a 5wk ethics course ! As if nursing school isn't hard enough! Lol
Oh I see. Okay, 'maybe' the emails was sent because they wanted to make sure you applied... that is a good thing because the program is a hefty penny. Im not sure what others have to pay out of pocket but for myself it's the same amount as my car. Haha
I'm analyzing the sent emails in my head to make myself feel better. Lol
I wasn't told I needed to take an additional course. But prior to applying I had contacted Mitzi to see which course I needed to fulfil for that section. And I took a course during the summer to knock it out.
I think that is awesome having the option. To take the ethics course, because you can still be in the program.

Maybe they are only sending them to the ones they are expecting to accept. I never got an email regarding financial.
