Hi all,
Just thought I would start a thread to see who applied for the upcoming 2018 cohort. I also wanted to check in and see how your experience has been so far through the application process. As for me, so far, I think I'm doing really well! I scored a level 2 on the RN fundamentals exam, had a great interview, and now I'm locked in with my finances. Just waiting for the phone call from SJVC to tell me if I've been accepted or not.
I believe there are only 24 seats for the bridge program and over 100 applicants. It's more competitive than I thought, especially because it's a private college.
We're supposed to hear by October 15th. Good luck to everyone!! :)
Are you taking the TEAS for another program? I took the TEAS for my LVN entrance back in 2014. There's been a new version since then.
I got an email today from SJVC stating I am an alternate and I did not receive a number. Are there really only 10 alternates? I was told there are 10 alternates on a list and that there are many lists.
And thank you! My GPA is is 2.91 but higher in my sciences.
Yes going to take the teas for another program. I'm not really banking on getting into sjvc. I feel that everyone who doesn't get in is a potential alternate. And not knowing you alternate number doesn't make sense to me. They can really pick anyone I feel.Good luck though!
Do you mind me asking where you're applying ?
They have the top 10 alternates, those alternates know what rank they are in range of 1-10. The next list is another 10 alternates, those alternates do not know what rank they are. So, basically, the first 10 alternates will get in IF anyone drops from the program or can't qualify with financial aid.

O wow ! How did you find this info out?

Maybe they only called the first half of acceptance. I hope you receive something soon. I feel being left out in the dark is the worst. It's like being the alternate. We All got the same email and lead to the unknown. It's not a good feeling and it surprises me for a school I was willing to pay 20k in cash to.
