SJVC Visalia LVN to RN Program

Hi all,

Just thought I would start a thread to see who applied for the upcoming 2018 cohort. I also wanted to check in and see how your experience has been so far through the application process. As for me, so far, I think I'm doing really well! I scored a level 2 on the RN fundamentals exam, had a great interview, and now I'm locked in with my finances. Just waiting for the phone call from SJVC to tell me if I've been accepted or not.

I believe there are only 24 seats for the bridge program and over 100 applicants. It's more competitive than I thought, especially because it's a private college.

We're supposed to hear by October 15th. Good luck to everyone!! :)

But in your email did it say anything in her wording that would have given you a clue to what #alternate you are?

I find it so interesting how we have no idea what #alternate we are. 200 applicants 24 accepted, should we think there are 176 alternates?

I don't think there are 176 alternates. Rem some of us didn't receive a call or email. So most likely all of us who recieved no response didnt get in.

Awww. I hope that's not the case. Maybe they had only a certain amount of acceptance and alternates they were contacting today.

No idea, I'm trying to get to the bottom of it tho, she made it seem hopeful tho just because she said "I KNOW theirs going to be people dropping" so I'm considering my other options but I'm definitely going to stay hopeful for SJVC bc I want to get into this program so bad!!! My fingers are still crossed !! Lol

That's why I asked if anything in the email worded if 2 people drop then you will be offered an acceptance.

I was stressed out about hearing from them now I'm stressed out on what alternate I am. Oh goodness...

There are 10 alternates.

Really! That's interesting! Thanks for the update!

Will they tell you why they won't tell us what alternate we are?! Lol

I'd like to know if I'm #10. I'd hope for at least the first 1-2 alternate. But after that I feel the odds go down a little.

One last question! Did your friend get anything in her email hunting or saying what alternate or how many need to drop before she'd be eligible?
