SJVC Spring 2022 Nursing Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi All,

Anyone else apply for the SJVC program that starts April 2022? I applied, and had my interview a few days ago. Still waiting on the financial aid call, when I followed up they stated they were running behind on calling applicants. They won't notify anyone of their acceptance until the week of February 28th, that is if they are not running behind. I pray that one of the programs I applied for has a spot for me.

Yeah it is! I am a little confused on the scrubs though.. which ones on the Dickies website should we get because when you put in woman’s scrub top a bunch come up..

I'm going to go to a uniform shop and purchase some, as long as we purchase dickies in the required color we should be fine. I'm picky on how my scrubs fit, and dickies is not my preferred brand LOL. I need to try them on first  ?

OMG same! LOL when I saw it was Dickies I was like ugh.. LOL I hate the way they fit me.. I went to Scrubs and Beyond to try some on and they were out of my size.

I found the dickies brand on amazon for mens.  I know Work World carries Dickies scrubs and have stores all over the valley, but I was thinking the same thing, as long as the color says "Caribbean blue" it can be any brand right?

And I ordered all white leather shoes off zappos.  They are laced vans so they should be OK, but the term "nurse type leather shoes" not sure what they mean by that.

I’m going to compare the dickies Caribbean blue with another brand to see if there is a difference. They usually go with a particular brand because colors can vary. I was shopping online for shoes last night, I’m going to go to the uniform shop in a bit to see what I can find. I don’t think they will care the style, as long as the shoes are white.

I think as long as they are leather and have a slip resistant bottom you should be fine. I have some from my CNA program I will probably use ..

Is anyone else here going into the program with zero medical field experience? Or just me? LOL. I know nothing about scrubs, nurse shoes, etc.

I have zero experience. I just ask my nurse friend what brands he buys for work and he said Aviator is his go to and Dickies just lasts forever.

I called (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to see if we are able to get another brand of scrubs as long as they fit the requirements. I left a voicemail and will let you guys know if she gets back to me what she says

@Ronnyj81 Thank you I was wondering the same thing.
