SJVC Spring 2022 Nursing Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi All,

Anyone else apply for the SJVC program that starts April 2022? I applied, and had my interview a few days ago. Still waiting on the financial aid call, when I followed up they stated they were running behind on calling applicants. They won't notify anyone of their acceptance until the week of February 28th, that is if they are not running behind. I pray that one of the programs I applied for has a spot for me.

I work at Valley Children’s full time right now but will be going down to 2 days a week once the program starts. I want to keep my foot in the door, plus they will reimburse me $5200 a year for school. Has anyone applied for loans yet? Do you guys know where you are going through?

Im not getting loans. I've been saving up and since I have a bachelor's degree already I won't get any assistance from FAFSA.

I would look into great lakes loans https://mygreatlakes.org/.  I don't know if they do loan directly though

I applied for federal loans and financial aid, but that only covers half. I am exploring other loan options at the moment. They are hard to find, all the ones I looked into require a co-signer. I am not about to go asking around for one either, so I'm a bit stressed over that at the moment. Have you found any loan options?

Going through the same thing. Not 100% what I am going to do. We have 3 kids and because I will be cutting my hours at work , I don’t want to blow my whole savings and pay all cash for it. I am still really hoping I get into a community college program and won’t have to pay $60k..

I am waiting to hear back from COS in Visalia and West Hills in Lemoore, I hope they send notifications out before April 1st. Their programs are a lot cheaper.

Not sure about COS but West Hills will be mid to late April. I asked financial aid at SJVC if I were to start and then leave mid April how much I will have to pay and they said a small percent maybe around $1000

When I dropped my application off at COS I was told notifications would be before April 1st, I hope and pray they are correct. I'm also contemplating the Florida program, one of my coworkers started that program last week. ICHS - everything is online, and at then end of each semester you have to go to Florida for a set amount of days for clinicals.

Do you have to be an LVN to get in . I will gladly go to Florida LOL

You don't have to be an LVN for their program, it is something to consider.

I currently work full-time but will be switching to part-time.

I have my bachelor's, so I will have to take out loans. The cost is a lot, but this is my 3ard year applying to schools.

At this point, I just want to start.

Did everyone get their email for all the upcoming dates for orientation and everything else we have to do?

@Ronnyj81

Yes I received the email.
