SJSU Spring 2017 (Questions/Comments/Concerns)

I looked around to see if anyone had started a thread but nothing

FAFSA opens today just so you guys know it's no longer in January, I just completed mine and you use taxes from 2015

Today I went to office, the director told me that she received more than 200 application for spring 2017 through nursing CAS, but she said she is not sure how many of those application are complete and qualified. I really got shocked, I thought only 70 to 80 people will apply for spring. :(

Hopefully, a lot of them don't know that only current enrolled students are qualified! I just got accepted into a nursing school in the east coast, but sjsu is my top option right now! I hope that number goes down to 70/80...200 is A LOT compared to last semesters 65 applicants.

200?? Isn't that usually around how many people apply for fall semester? Let's just hope the number of qualified applications go down!

There was a rumor going around that they would be accepting transfers, but thats not the case. That's a pretty odd number for spring. No wonder this thread has about 10K views, plenty of people looking around

Do you guys have any word on when the results will be announced? I was thinking based on the past semesters, late November to early December, because for Fall 2016 the results took about 3 months.

after thanksgiving usually

I am applying as a 2nd bachelor's degree to SJSU for the spring. My application status on mysjsu changed yesterday to Clear Admit / Verified...I contacted admissions and they said I have been accepted. Does anyone know if this is to the university or nursing program as well?

It is university admission. Nursing admission will be announced after thanksgiving.

Has anyone gotten any update on the applicant pool? 200 is quite a lot ...

There were 120 for fall 2016. 200 applicants sounds wild. I was in one of the UPN advising workshops yesterday and there was only one other applicant in there with me.

I also attended the pre-nursing workshop, but in my workshop, there were at least 20 students. In the workshop, they discuss that how pre-nursing student can switch to psychology, nutrition and kinesiology if they don't get into nursing program. These workshops is only for SJSU pre-nursing students and not for second degree students who are from outside and has the majority in the spring pool.
