  1. Hi, Finally Sunrise School got approved and my sister got her CA license
  2. Yes, so many schools in Florida filled out 9-page forms, and they are in the review process. BON California did not provide any time frame to respond to them. Many students from unaccredited Florida schools have to apply for endorsement again since they applied more than one year ago. Many have to apply again every year since the application is valid for one year. My sister has been waiting for nine months. As an RN in the Bay Area who works for one of the main hospitals around here, I can confidently tell you that $100000 in tuition is absolutely worth it . You can make this money after tax in five to six months and return your loan. None of these unaccredited schools in Florida meet the CA BON since they do not send their students for clinical rotation to Maternity, Medical-surgical nursing, Pediatrics, Community health, and psychiatric departments. At most, they send their student to SNiF and rehab for a limited time. If you go to the website of the BON (Board of Nursing) of any US state and check the requirements for clinical rotation, you will understand what I am talking about. Passing NCLEX alone does not make a person competent. Any person who even did not go to nursing school can pass NCLEX by studying UWorld for 5-6 months. Again, I cross my fingers, and I hope that all of you folks get your endorsement, but I do not recommend this pathway (going to an unaccredited out-of-state school).
  3. No Sunrise School of Nursing FL, has not been approved yet as far as I know. So many people were not able to endorse their license to California since the school is still under review. Only ONE STUDENT could obtain a CA temporary license, and he renewed it every six months. Other CA students of Sunrise were not able to get a temporary license. I feel that if my sister enrolled in a private nursing school in CA, such as Samuel Merritt for ABSN (one-year program), and paid 100000 for tuition, by now, she would have paid back her loan. It is such a huge mistake to enroll in an unaccredited out-of-state school.
  4. My friend got a Florida license, and she is waiting for CA BON to review the school (sunrise). It has been almost nine month that the school filled up that 9 pages and submitted to CA BON. Does anybody know how she can change her Florida license to a compact license?
  5. No; even people who initially managed to get temporary licenses could not extend their temporary permit. However, I know people who graduated from an accredited nursing program in Florida could endorse their license to Califiornia. It probably takes some time for California BON to conduct an investigation since every month, they blacklist a couple of Florida nursing schools under "Operation Nightingale".
  6. I know a few people who attended unaccredited nursing schools (but approved by Florida BON) in Florida. The problem started when the Justice Department found that there were 3 schools that allegedly issued more than 7,600 fake and unearned nursing diplomas and sold them for around 10000$ to 17,000 $. The alleged schemes took place between 2016 and 2021. The schools involved in the alleged scheme include Siena College, Palm Beach School of Nursing, and Sacred Heart International Institute. About 37 percent of those (people with 7600 fake diplomas) who bought the fake documents — or about 2,800 people — passed the NCLEX exam. The is not a full story; the story becomes very crazy. The scale of fraud is so huge. Now, No official wants to talk about it. It is so big that they can not control it. Now they have found out more, and they have closed 24 schools and every day they close more schools in Florida. You can check the name of the school in the California Board of Nursing under "Operation Nightingale and the Fraudulent Nursing School Investigation". https://www.RN.ca.gov/education/nightingale.shtml
  7. I have GPA of 3.9 and a good TEAS score but I didn't get into 3 CSU which I applied. I know a friend who applies for EverGreen College for 3 years but still, she didn't get into the program. De Anza also is a good option but you have to get 80 on HESI A2 in all 5 subject and then you need to wait for more than 1 year until your name comes up in the waiting list. Unitek is not a good program if you compare it to CSU and community college but it does the job. I see that Unitek graduate work in the reputed hospital. You can search it on Linkedin. Yes, it is not regionally accredited but the program qualifies you to give board exam and become RN. When you work in a hospital for a couple of years, it really doesn't matter where you went to school since you have the experience. You also can do an RN-BSN bridge program later online in a regionally accredited program. I don't think it is expensive if you compare it with other private program such as USFca ($150000 for 3 years program) and Samuel merit ($95000 for two years program).
  8. Yes, I beleive you are in right track
  9. I am just not sure what do you mean by , " I haven't fulfilled the prerequisites for the BSN so that would also require me to do more schooling and spend a little more money," Usually the prerequisit for ADN and BSN are one and the same. (chemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, statistic, nutrition and general education), even if an ADN program dosnt require you to take chemistry and Statistic but since you want to do MSN, you need to take them eventually. I suggest that you take the remaining prerequisits in community college, to cut the cost.
  10. Admission Requirements for the Masters Entry Program (MEPN) at UCSF School of Nursing. Completion, no later than the application deadline, of intro- or higher-level courses with passing grades and worth at least two semester units or three quarter units in each of the following: Microbiology, with a lab component Physiology, with a lab component Anatomy, with a lab component (NOTE: combined anatomy and physiology courses are acceptable as long as they comprise a comprehensive systems overview totaling at least four semester units or six quarter units) Psychology Statistics (Note: beginning with the 2017 application cycle, statistics must be from within three years of the application deadline.) A college-level statistics course taken at an accredited college or university that results in credit on the college's transcript meets this requirement. Online courses that earn credit on an accredited college or university transcript meet this requirement. Applicants must provide evidence of completing this requirement for admission by providing the college transcript that displays the statistics course grade and credits earned. See FAQ for more information. Nutrition
  11. pleaseeeeeee don't post without enough research AngelKissed857, first read the requirement of the program and then post something, entry level master program also need intense prerequisite PLUS GRE entrance exam. This is the requirement of the same link which you posted. Masters Entry Program (MEPN) Admission Requirements | UCSF School of Nursing
  12. I am absolutely sure you can not even go to ADN or BSN program since you do not have prerequisite and your background is in education. First you need to go to community college and take Chemistry, Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, Nutrition, Developmental psychology, general psychology, etc (even more depend to the program). The prerequisite alone takes at least two year. For me It took 3 and half year since I need to finish general Education also. But you already have the general Education. Then you need to give entrance exam, TEAS or HESI. Only then you may get into Accelerated BSN program (i am not sure if you can work during accelerated program since it is very demanding). After BSN and passing your NCLEX then you can apply for NP school.
  13. Join the facebook page, SJSU Nursing Fall 2019
  14. You can ask this question at "mandatory new student workshop" in Jan 23th. I think it depends to the numbers of unites which you already have (transferred from CC) because SJSU only accept 70 transfer units. But why don't you want to take it at SJSU. From 12 units to 16 unites at SJSU, you pay the same tuition. You also save money and time by not commuting to another campus.
  15. congratulation miyeu, :)
