Hey! I was going to create a thread once I received my TEAS score. I'm taking it for the first time this month. Do you know what your impaction score is? :)

Did you guys hear that they changed the application. Instead of dividing your TEAS score by 23, theyre dividing by 30 now. I guess theyre doing this so that your impaction score is based more off of your gpa and not your TEAS score. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad
Yea I heard about that! Not too sure if its a good or bad thing :/ if the cutoff score also divides the TEAS portion by 30 then I don't think it should affect our chances dramatically?

From my understanding, The School of Nursing probably wanted less of the applicant pool to not take the pre-reqs seriously and then cram for the TEAS last minute to improve their impaction score. This is just a guess. I saw on the California RN NCLEX pass rate page, that "The Valley Foundation School of Nursing at SJSU" NCLEX pass rate has been dropping quite a bit in the past years. Maybe there's the cause.
Anyways, do you guys and girls know for the WST, if you get a 11 or 12, are you eligible to waive NURS 100W? I heard from some nursing students that you can't, but has anyone heard something different?

Is anyone applying to other programs as well that take spring transfers? I'm looking for back-up schools but a lot either doesn't take spring transfers or the pre-reqs are different.

I was told it will not be until the end if July before all the CSU post whether or not they will be taking Spring transfers. Last year they said no at first and then last minute some decided to allow the transfers. So I wouldnt count any school out until end of day July 31( the day before the apps will open)
Oh wow I didn't know this many people responded. Glad to see you guys responded. I just took the TEAS exam this Saturday (first try) and will be taking it again this August.
Here's where I'm at at this moment:
Big 5 GPA: 3.7
TEAS V: 81.3%
So my impaction score is... 81.3/30 + 3.7 = 6.41
The site says you can waive it with a 10 or above, but since its a nursing course I'm not sure how that would work... I'm sure this Q has been answered in other posts, you should look around or just call the nursing department.
There's less focus on the actual TEAS score this time, so it's a bit more balanced with your GPA. Because, before, people with high GPAs would get turned down. I would say its for the better
I know some people in the nursing program already and they said that you have to take the 100W class even if you scored high enough on the WST to get it waived
