Hi everyone!
I wanted to start a thread for the people who are applying to San Joaquin Delta College's nursing program for FALL 2016 cohort. I know the application period is still a month away but I'm just so excited. I still need to take my TEAS. Maybe we can all get to know each other and compare scores?
Good luck to all of us !
You know, I thought it was my dream school, but when I saw that crazy schedule and added in commute time I knew it was not for me; I walked away feeling content. Your family will be a huge help for study time and having to take out loans isn't anyone's first choice but definitely not the end of the world either! Keep in mind that the nursing program is not considered full time so if you get financial aid, it will be for a part time student. That part sucks big time![emoji35]
Oh man, I didn't realize it wasn't considered full time

Yes I have been reading past forums and seen that people add ENG 33 ( a skills class ? I think) for the extra units to be considered full time for financial aid. Ugh. I heard it's a waste of precious time that you need to be studying nursing material, but I might have to look into it since I will rely on financial aid to help out with the family bills and child care

I really don't understand how the nursing program is not considered full time. The amount of time required in class plus clinicals and the hours spent studying at home is crazy. It really does boggle my mind![emoji15] and there is no way I am adding an extra study skills class to an already full schedule!

Right! I can't imagine how that is not full-time. Thats just crazy. I really don't know what Im going to do. I really don't want to do it, but I guess Ill have to see how my situation is IF I get in the nursing program this August. *fingers crossed*
Hi. Nobody else understands my excitement/ nerves about the upcoming application so Im posting here! I figured you guys would understand. I have heard and read conficting info as to whether the app opens this week or next.
Hi SweetandSalty!
I 100% understand your excitement! I'm soooo excited to apply as well. Yes, same here. On past threads on this website people say it opens the 4th week of January but here we are and no sign of the application opening. Then on delta's website it says the Fall applications open 1st week of February. Ughhhh lol
So I called the health sciences Dept again today and the lady said they don't know when the online app will be up, but when it goes up it is only open for 10 days. She said just keep checking everyday. So if any of you see that it's up, please update this thread with the info. I will do the same! [emoji16]
