Okay so it is that time of the year again. August finally made it. The 2013 Spring Nursing Letters will be going out soon. I wish everyone who is waiting the best of luck. Fingers crossed, and prayers going up.
Waiting now with everyone else. I was told that I will know if I was accepted or denied by the end of October... Which is quite far from now.
Just in case anyone was interested, this is what I applied with.
University of New Mexico College of Nursing
Overall Undergrad GPA: 4.08
Science GPA: 4.25
Residents of NM are given priority. Native American heritage and/or residence in rural NM towns also are given priority. GPA is said to be key factor.
-No HESI until entry granted to program.
-No interview.
-No essay. No letter of reference.
-No requirement of previous healthcare experience.
-No lottery. No waitlist. Applicants do not get points for applying more than once.
-49 will be accepted. >250 typically apply.
I'm just worried I forgot to turn in part of the paperwork. I'm feeling really paranoid.
I got my "Congratulations! You earned guaranteed admission into the nursing program" email yesterday! I already knew I had a spot; guaranteed admission GPA for my school's program is 3.25 and I have a 4.0 but it was still exciting to see the "official" email. I'll start in January.
Congratulations!! I wish I could find out sooner, but I'm waiting until I see the e-mail before I start celebrating or crying. :) Best wishes for nursing school!!
Okay so I am getting nervous. I have checked the mailbox two days in a row and no letter yet. The letters started to go out last week. I don't know how they mail them out, but I would think that they send out the acceptance letters first since they only accept a few into the program. I don't know but I know that I have one more week of waiting to go. If I don't get in this time I guess I will take it as a sign to move on. I guess I will switch to social work since I have taken most of the classes required for that degree. No more wasting time.

Oooh - waiting, the most frustrating part! I hope everyone gets into their program of their choice. Can't believe I'll be starting my four semester Accelerated BSN on the 20th!
Good luck everyone.
