  1. I start the 8th... But I just found out my husband may be accepting a job that will cause us to have to move out of state. I will have to go through application process all over again in another state if he accepts! Maybe we will end up staying and I can just keep going.
  2. I am taking it in January too. Along with Nursing 1 (fundamentals).
  3. Me. I got accepted with a C in A+P 1 but I also wrote in my essay that I didn't think that grade was indicative of my true performance and stated I was retaking it. I had A's in everything else though. I am currently almost done with my second go around with A+P 1 and have an A so far. Retake it if you feel an A would give you a better advantage.
  4. You will find in the medical field it's always "Watch one, do one and teach one."
  5. That is how I found out. I was tired of waiting so I called just to see if the letters had been sent out. Instead she told me I had been accepted and should receive the letter in the mail soon.
  6. If you want to work in the OR with surgeons then continue on with your nursing plans. You could get a job in the OR and learn how to circulate. Once you get in there and make connections you can find a doctor that wouldn't mind having an assistant. Then you can go on to get your certification as an RN-First Assist. You would be opposite a surgeon, the responsibility would not be as great as it is if you are a CRNA and you can get the best of both worlds! If you are going to be a CRNA for the money then being a first assist is not going to get you the money. But it seems it would be the better match for what you are looking to do. As for hating being a CNA? I am an LPN and with LPN clinicals I absolutely hated being in the nursing home. I don't like working with the elderly. I hate that I feel that way but that is honestly how I feel. It is okay to feel that way. Geriatrics isn't for everyone. Do what you need to do to get to your end goal and then find a specialty that fits you and your personality. Good Luck!
  7. I'm starting in january too! So excitex!! Congrats!
  8. I got a 90 on the first lab test and a 101 on the first lecture test. I haven't gotten the grade for my second lab test and my second lecture test is this Monday. I feel good so far and I'm happy with my grades!
  9. Yay!! You did the same thing I did and then I received the letter the next day! I'm still pinching myself!
  10. The wait is horrible! But so worth it end the end!
  11. I haven't read all of the responses. But I went to an LPN program at a vocational school my junior and senior year of high school. We did all of our clinicals at the local hospital and a few at a nursing home. I was 15 my first year in the program. And I passed my NCLEX-PN when I was 17. I would research the laws and such in your state. Granted this was 17 years ago for me. But I know for a fact that that program still runs around here.
