Schools in!! 21 days and counting! Anyone else starting this month
I start the 8th... But I just found out my husband may be accepting a job that will cause us to have to move out of state. I will have to go through application process all over again in another state if he accepts! Maybe we will end up staying and I can just keep going.

Anyone make into nursing school with a B or C in A&P I
Me. I got accepted with a C in A+P 1 but I also wrote in my essay that I didn't think that grade was indicative of my true performance and stated I was retaking it. I had A's in everything else though. I am currently almost done with my second go around with A+P 1 and have an A so far. Retake it if you feel an A would give you a better advantage.

Waiting For Spring 2013 Acceptance..Anyone else?
That is how I found out. I was tired of waiting so I called just to see if the letters had been sent out. Instead she told me I had been accepted and should receive the letter in the mail soon.

If I hate being a Cna, should I stop pursuing Nursing?
If you want to work in the OR with surgeons then continue on with your nursing plans. You could get a job in the OR and learn how to circulate. Once you get in there and make connections you can find a doctor that wouldn't mind having an assistant. Then you can go on to get your certification as an RN-First Assist. You would be opposite a surgeon, the responsibility would not be as great as it is if you are a CRNA and you can get the best of both worlds! If you are going to be a CRNA for the money then being a first assist is not going to get you the money. But it seems it would be the better match for what you are looking to do. As for hating being a CNA? I am an LPN and with LPN clinicals I absolutely hated being in the nursing home. I don't like working with the elderly. I hate that I feel that way but that is honestly how I feel. It is okay to feel that way. Geriatrics isn't for everyone. Do what you need to do to get to your end goal and then find a specialty that fits you and your personality. Good Luck!

16 year old in the ADN nursing program, now they're asking me to withdraw? :
I haven't read all of the responses. But I went to an LPN program at a vocational school my junior and senior year of high school. We did all of our clinicals at the local hospital and a few at a nursing home. I was 15 my first year in the program. And I passed my NCLEX-PN when I was 17. I would research the laws and such in your state. Granted this was 17 years ago for me. But I know for a fact that that program still runs around here.

I got accepted!!
I found out today that I was accepted! I knew that the letters were due to go out soon. But I got antsy and called to find out if they had gone out yet. They ended up telling me over the phone that I was accepted! I start January! I am so excited now. In 2001 I went to this same school for one semester but had to leave for personal reasons. When I went back then there were no waiting lists to get in to schools anywhere. If you wanted to go to nursing school you were accepted. There were only 12 people in my class! Fast forward to today and I was reading about how hard it was to get in and how many people get denied so many times and I was really worried I wouldn't get in but I did!

What courses did you take in conjunction with A & P?
In the 2001 when I took A+P 1 I was taking that, general psych, English comp1 and nursing 1. Then I dropped out for personal reasons. This semester I am taking A+P 1, nutrition, college algebra, developmental psych and first aid. I wouldn't normally take that many classes but I had to take at least 12 credit hours so I could get A+P free.

New vs used books vs renting
Just out of curiosity.... I get a 600 dollar book waiver every semester so I just get the books from the bookstore since I can only use it at the bookstore. So I can't really look for better prices. Does anyone else use a book waiver?
