Hello to all!
Has anyone received their letters from Sierra College (Rocklin, CA) yet?
I'll admit I'm not the most patient person in the world, but now that classes are almost over, I'm wondering what to do with myself!
I'm finishing up my last prereq now, (Physio) and will be taking Anthro 2 over the summer.
All I have to do is wait....geez it's tough! Sierra is the only school I applied to for the Fall. Most of the other schools I'm looking at require all the prereqs are completed; I guess I'll be applying to at least 4 schools for the Spring!
Thanks for letting me vent; now back to studying!
Does anyone know if the Sierra College RN program has an assessment test requirement like the TEAS for fall 2008?P.S for all of you who were accepted this semester, I live in Folsom and am excited to meet you all!
Hello Waiting08.... I'm not too far from you (Placerville). Where did you take your pre-reqs?? Have you heard of anyone else getting in to Sierra??

Just a quick question for the folks who just got into Sierra. Would you mind telling us what your GPA was when you applied? Overall vs. Pre-requisite? Sorry, but I have a great pre-requisiste GPA, but had a rotten prior attempt at another college that I'm afraid will sink my chances to get in at Sierra.
I have a 3.7 in pre-reqs and overall 3.4 I think it may also help to have never re-taken or dropped any courses. I took all classes through FLC.
I had Professor Krieg for A&P at FLC. I also never re-took or dropped any courses.I am getting confused... Acceptance into Sierra's program isn't strictly a lottery system? Did all my hard work for my 4.0 pay off?
Absolutely your work paid off!! Sierra recognizes people who work hard...the first time around!!! It's no accident that you got in the first time...good job! There are not many who get a 4.0 in pre-reqs the first time around (especially with Kreig) let alone, overall!

Wow! I guess I should've applied to Sierra earlier. I had only been applying to SCC and ARC for the past 3 semesters because they were in the Los Rios College District. This semester I decided to apply to all 3 schools. Oh well I guess hindsight is 20/20. It is really a good feeling to know that my hard work got me into this program and not just strictly a random lottery.

Misslisa,
Congrats on getting in to the program! I just graduated last week....Sierra was a great & should be even better now as they have revised pretty much everything (sounds more pracctical now). I have a good friend (Kara) who will be joining you:) Best of luck...any questions, don't hesitate to post!

Sierra college students will be required to take the HESI during the 1st semester. It is like the teas but a little different. I asked a friend that is going into her 4th semester in fall and she did say that they require the HESI.
I would call the nursing dept and just ask them, they will give you a straight answer.
