Took my Nclex-RN today
Thanks for the much needed encouragment! I take mine on June 21st & was freaking out today!! After reviewing all my Hurst lectures & content I still only scored a 67% on the practice exam (although I caught a few that I did not take time to weed through). Anyhow, every one of my classmates who have taken theirs thus far has had a shut-off at 75! I'm so worried about it going over & going into panic mode!! I do think my school did a good job at prepping us but there is still that "what if" fear that will not let up! Anyhow, I'll let you all know how it went!

Sierra College Letters?
Hang in there! I just graduated from Sierra & unfortunatly there are NO jobs...anywhere! Hopefully by the time you guys get in & out the market for nurses will have picked up! When I started looking at nursing they were recruting right out of programs...everyone had a job. Now were fighting for anything anywhere!

Sierra College Letters?
Misslisa, Congrats on getting in to the program! I just graduated last week....Sierra was a great & should be even better now as they have revised pretty much everything (sounds more pracctical now). I have a good friend (Kara) who will be joining you:) Best of luck...any questions, don't hesitate to post! ~Teresa

Anyone having second thoughts about nursing based on their clinicals?
This is probably something you should have looked at before starting NS! I think having NA or CNA experience or training would be one of the best pre-requisites for NS!! There are a couple of ADN programs in my area that take 60 students per semester & have an average drop rate of at least 20% both 1st & second semester! The same school had 900 applicants waiting to get in! I really hope you can stick it out....it gets better once you get into the "groove." Also remember some days will be better and more rewarding than others. Also you are just getting a small tast of what's out there right now;) Best of Luck!

Please....any of you guys who have excellent grades etc. and received letters like this, contact the Dean of math and sciences at Sierra college. Two of my friends received the same letters and have close to flawless apps (grades, TEAS scores, etc.) and were told they did not qualify with an 84%! Problem is...they were both graded higher through the counsoler's office. I know one of the girls whent straight to dean Kenner's office and spoke with her...then talked to the math/science dean...and yes, they had made a mistake! So someone screwed up this semester and you guy's did not work this hard to fall into someone's mistake! Sierra did tighten up their requirments this semester though...but not that much! I am sooooo fourtunate to have been selected last semester because I'm pretty sure I would not have gotten in as of now! Anyhow...please, please go and make noise about this (only if you are sure about meeting the criteria...sounds like you do). Good luck and don't give up!

Hi Keith, I am on the Fall track. Although, I have found lecture to be somewhat of a waste! I can honestly say that I would learn a lot more if I saved the two hours of drive time and stayed home to watch lecture! Now, things may be different in semesters to come, but from what I've seen so far, you will be just fine! I know one guy that is graduating this semester from the online track and he pulled off working full time while in the program and did just fine. I wouldn't worry too much. Congratulations on getting in!! I'll say hi if I see ya in the hall someday:) Good luck!

Congrats!!! It's a good school...we have a good class. It's nice because they are smaller than many of the othe schools. Good luck to you, you'll do well. Like I said everyone who started is still there.

Did your friend get in for the spring semester? When did she find out? Just curious....I have a couple of friends waiting on Sierra and I couldn't get info from my instructor, so just wondering. I figured it would be this weekend, but wasn't sure.

Geeze...can't believe ARC lost 9 already!! The should start interviewing! I am currently finishing my first semester at Sierra and we have not lost anyone. I guess it's rare for them to loose anyone through the entire course of the program. I too think it's sad since there are so many excellent students trying, waiting, hoping, to get in. It's frustrating. I tried to see if my school has sent out the acceptance letters yet, but all they told me was "it's in the works...they'll know by the end of the semester." Keep checking e-mails...that's how I found out last spring. I wish you all the best...let me know what you hear...it should be any day.
