Hi! I have 3.8 GPA until I took online psychology class with a teacher that doesn't know what she is doing. Only 4 exams worth 25 percent of my grade. No lectures, nothing. No practical quizzes. Just 60 min 60 question exam over 7 chapters and 15 question came from calculating the pannet square and statistics. I got 76 percent on the first test.
I have federal student loan and I still need to take developmental psychology, microbiology, and organic chemistry as for my prerequisites.
Do you suggest I withdraw from this psychology class and retake it in summer?
Oh, you suggest I keep trying and try to get a B in it?
I heard there are 20 people competing for one spot in nursing department.
So, what should I do?
Please, advice.

Hello!
When I took Psychology online, it was only 2 exams based on the textbook. No lectures, no quizzes, no papers, no discussion questions... just two exams: the midterm and the final.
I must say that microbiology is going to be a tougher subject than Psychology. Not only that... organic chemistry is a LOT tougher than those two. So, fasten your seatbelt and dive into it.
Sorry, but it is only going to get tougher. However, it is not impossible.

I'd suggest you stick it out. 76 on your first exam is not that bad. Try to do better on the consecutive exams from now on. Just an FYI, blaming teacher (even if she/he is truly terrible), is never a good excuse to explain away your failures. Whether you like it or not, you will meet a couple of those in your academic career (nursing included) and you will have to just deal with them. Have a positive attitude. Study up. Find what is the best way you learn and brush up on some test taking skills and strategies.

4 exams is plenty. That is how college works. Many classes only have 2 exams and that is it.
You signed up for an online class. Many online classes do not have lectures - you are expected to do your own reading and learn on your own.
If online learning doesn't suit you, then drop the class and retake it as an in-person class.
And don't say the professor sucks - no one forced you to sign up for an online class and from what you described, this is a typical online class.

Technically, you still have a opportunity for an A. By achieving a 95 or above on the next there exams, you can do it if you put the work in. Possibly, you can email your professor and inform them your having a rough time in the class and having difficulty on where to focus since it's so broad. Hey, you never know!
