Hello all! I'm a Pre-Nursing student at a community college! :) Well, this is my second semester in college and I must say that it is very challenging especially with meeting all my requirements for nursing school and taking the science courses. Anyways, I'm very excited about my nursing future! Right now I am taking A&P I and Biology I. They both are pre-reqs for nursing school. The sciences I need for the nursing schools in my state are A&P I, A&P II, Chemistry I, Biology I, and Microbiology. My grade in A&P I is an A as of now and I have an A in the lab. I have scored 90 and better on all the tests in A&P. I truly enjoy it. However, I did not take a science last semester therefore I am behind in my sciences which is why I had to double up this semester. I was thinking of taking Microbiology in summer, A&P II in the fall( because I heard its really difficult and alot more work) and then take Chemistry in the spring of next semester. For the nursing schools here, I have to have 3 of the 5 sciences completed before I can apply for nursing school. That's why I'm trying to decide which science to take in the summer. Nursing applications go up in July! This July! and the deadline for the applications are January of 2013. If I don't take Microbiology in the summer, I was going to take A&P II because I thought maybe I could handle it. Besides, I don't have a job, no kids, I'm 18 with no commitments. LOL. Plus it's the summer, it's not like I'll have anything to do anyways. Thoughts? or maybe I could take A&P II and Microbiology in the summer? Then I'd just have to knock out Chemistry which would be the only science left! Thoughts? Thanks! I'm sooo happy I found this website with fellow pre-nursing students! I feel like I'm apart of a community and we're all on a journey!!!

Im glad to see you are so excited. Well really you should just take A&P II on the summer since it does build on the knowledge you acquired in A&P I. Plenty of people have taken A&P II over the summer and have gotten As. If you work hard you will be fine. Just save Microbiology for the fall semester. I enjoyed microbiology the most I thought it was kind of fun.

I would keep rolling with A&P. Like the above said....save micro for last.
Especially if you have any entrance tests to take...having both A&P semesters done will help you a lot!
The reason why I don't want to take A&P II in the summer is because I'm taking it at another school because it's closer to my house. What if I get a horrible teacher who doesn't explain the material efficiently?? I believe that teachers play a huge part in the learning ability which is why I love my A&P I teacher now. I was gonna take her for A&P II the fall since I'm use to her teaching style. Thoughts?
