I've heard it's best not to take two *semi* hard sciences at the same time, but it looks like I might have too. Is this doable?
I think it is doable...but I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking...lol, anyway, I think that you would need to be a disciplined person because both classes require a lot of time, it also depends on how good at science you are and if you have anything else going on in your life....which we all do...I know, but can it coexist with two tough classes is a question you have to ask yourself....hope this helps!!!!

Just what exactly do you consider a hard science? Anyway, I took all my nursing prerequisites in one semester. Twenty semester hours... A&P II, micro, nutrition, statistics, and sociology. What are you asking? Should you do it? No one can answer that except you. I pulled that off with a 4.0 and worked 16 hours a week, too. It all depends on your level of motivation.
As has already been stated - it is a state of mind. Science or maths is only as hard as you let it be... same with english etc. 2 sciences can be a challange - but at the same time you might find that there are a few commonalities which help you doing them both. Learning muscle structure and how contractions work is better understood if you know a little chemistry for example. Be brave - you will cope with it....
Actually, I am going to be the voice that says you SHOULD take them together. There is a lot of crossover in the pre-requisite sciences, and sometimes when you understand something explained in one of the classes, it makes the concept in the other class more understandable. They are a lot of work, but nursing school, and then nursing, are going to be a lot of work. It doesn't get any easier here on out. You have to push yourself to take in a lot of information and understand it, then apply it. The sooner you jump in the water, the better! Good luck!
