Should I re-take A&P 1?

Published

Good morning!:)

Fall 2009 I finished A&P 1 with a C. I'm planning on taking part 2 in the spring after taking Micro this fall. Would you re-take 1 if it's been 2 years? I feel as though I've forgotten it all and that I would be totally lost in 2! Thanks!:D

It might put you a little behind but I would retake it. Also, i don't know what school you are going to but mine is very competitive and it would be hard to get into the Nursing program at all if you have a C in one of your core Sciences.

I was admitted to this program last year with the C, but I had to decline it because of family reasons. There isn't an issue with me getting in, I just wanted to make sure I would be able to take A&P 2 without being totally lost! Thanks for your input! :)

If I were you I would not probably retake it if having a C does not hurt your chances of getting in. What might be beneficial is for you to review your materials from A and P 1, review your notes, lecture slides, textbook, etc. You'd be surprised on how much you will remember if you review everything. I was in a similar situation and received a C in A and P 1 and some time had passed before I took the second so I also thought I had forgotten most of it. But, I am doing just fine in A and P 2, if not better than the first class.

So, I would take a and p 2 and if during the first few weeks you feel that you cannot handle it, you would always drop it and go back to the first if you think it will help but I doubt you will find that. That is just what I would do!

:-)

I would say go ahead and take A&P II. I thought that A&P II emphasized the body's physiological process, not anatomical structures.
