Shortage Time From UK-USA

World UK

Published

Thought I would start a new thread. I want to know what is the shortest time that any RN has taken to emigrate from UK to the USA? And there are a few of us on here who are starting off or who are on the long road and some nearing the end, and it would be nice to get an average length of time.

For the record most of you know I am going via an agency (cause I didnt find this web site til after I took nclex)

I joined the agency 1st August 2004.

I took my NCLEX 17th january 2005,

Visa screen approved end April 2005

Medical 29th October

Interview US embassy 16th November 2005

Arrived in US 1st Dec 2005

My papers were filed for visa screen and green card last day of January 2005.

It would also help others who are following in our footsteps :balloons:

Hi Anna,

After reviewing this thread I aggree what we discussed yesterday my dates were slightly off, dunno know when payment was sent but packet 3 sent middle of July. So I am 8 weeks into wait for medical now, so could/may/want/need to hear sometime in Oct. It just seems an age since july. Everytime letterbox goes I run to the front door with great expectations. Wish i hadn't got an ideal date in mind then I could relax lol. I so want to be gone by december but may have to revise my plans and look later, only problem is where are we going to live??????????? You cant rent for a month or so.

hi kay

not having an ideal date to be moving probably would be better and with all the delays I have had I am just wishing for beginning of next yr well first part of next year, whether that happens or not depends on how quick I can get approval 2nd time around. Could you not have a word with however has bought the house and see if they would be willing to take you on as short term tenants??? the other not so nice option could be a bedsit

Congratulations!! From reading back to the beginning of this thread, you've gone from NCLEX to out of here in under 12 months, and from Packet 3 to this point in 4 months or so? Shows it can be done in under 12 months - which I'm still clinging on to!!

and I feel excited but nauseous, if that makes sense.

I would be excited too!! I just feel nauseous (due to the lack of things happening at present).

Have a good one - keep us wannabe Arizonans up to date when you get there!

Cheers

OG

Congratulations Kay,

The nausea is normal and gets worse the closer you get to departure. So does the excitement.

Good Luck,

Janet

Medical went ok took about two hours and had all results back by wednesday morning (yesterday).

The staff were lovely at the Birmingham Nuffield. The Dr said if we had any problems with xray or bloods then we would be contacted if we recieved all envelopes and xrays then we were fit and healthy.

I did pay for Tetorifice and diptheria jab £15 which i didnt think was too bad, but he did slap me and then slam it into my upper arm which I found painful lol.
