Hello! I am currently applying to schools in Washington and I was wondering if anyone else on here is applying for the RN program at Shoreline. If you are, what are your points and what other schools are you applying to?

Hello! I think I got 142 on the PAX but it doesn’t really play a factor in admissions as long as you get the required score. The program is online for theory courses and then you’ll be in person for skills lab and clinicals. I think first quarter was clinicals Monday and Tuesday with class on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and then skills lab on Friday. Good luck!
@AlissaTaylor13 hello! I was accepted into the fall 2021 cohort and I noticed your comment about not getting a confirmation email after sending in your acceptance into the program. When did you get an email back about orientation? Because I’m also getting anxious after turning in my own acceptance, LOL. Thank you!

It should be really soon! I know that orientation for Fall 2021 is on June 2nd, so I would email them to confirm that they got your acceptance. I emailed multiple times because I was so nervous!
@S0255214 as far as I know, they finalized and sent out more acceptance letter to the alternative buddies yesterday. Same here that they didn't reply on whether or not they received my acceptance form so I followed up and Sharon confirmed that she received it. You should double check with her. Otherwise, I will wait until tomorrow and email to ask about next steps:) Congrats and I will see you in Fall quarter!!
@AlissaTaylor13 thank you for being so helpful !
Thank you so much, both of you! I’ll send her an email right now. ?
@AlissaTaylor13 how has the program been so far? I’m so excited but also nervous because I’ve heard nursing programs are a 180 from prerequisites in terms of learning and tests.
@keehg, which program did you get into? The 6 QTR or 10 QTR? I got into the 6 QTR one! And congrats to you, too!

The program has been really great so far! I am in 3rd quarter currently, but I’d say first quarter was definitely the hardest for me! It was a lot of concepts (spirituality, sexuality, communication) and non-science learning which was not easy after focusing on science in the prerequisites. It gets better though. I’d say 3rd is my favorite so far since it is the most like the prerequisites with pathophysiology and then added nursing information. Learning-wise I feel like it’s less memorization than the prerequisites, so you have to work to understand the bigger picture instead. Testing is much better, but it can be tricky since there are multiple right answers sometimes and you have to pick the best one. Also your grade is mostly testing points (you need 75% or higher total) so it can be a little more stressful at times!
@AlissaTaylor13 that sounds really stressful! I'm so nervous.. Is there anyone in your class didn't get 75% and what happened to them if you don't mind sharing? ?
@keehg I hope we’re in the same lab classes! I’ll also see you this fall AND in orientation!
@AlissaTaylor13 thank you for the information! I’m going to assume first quarter may be tough on me as well because psychology and sociology wasn’t my strong suit when I took it. Good luck on the rest of the quarter and program! Judging on how helpful you’ve been in this discussion board, you’ll make an amazing nurse!
