Hello! I am currently applying to schools in Washington and I was wondering if anyone else on here is applying for the RN program at Shoreline. If you are, what are your points and what other schools are you applying to?

Hi guys, so I am applying for Winter 2021 and currently starting on PAX. Any advice on the test/study and where was the good source to prep for tests besides the book from NLN? Thanks in advance and CONGRATS on getting in this Fall ❤️

That’s exciting that you are getting ready to apply! I didn’t use any NLN specific books because I was also taking the TEAS test and they were similar enough for me to just use the ATI manual. I took a lot of those free online TEAS quizzes which helped me a lot! Also I used a free TEAS app to quiz myself up until my test date. It ended up being easier than the TEAS in my opinion, so preparing for the TEAS helped a lot!

Ohh that's good to know. I am stressing out after seeing the minimum point of Fall 2020 is 106.6 because mine is 106.55 (if I calculated right). So did you guys use the points show on NursingCAS after entering transcripts for it? I have 3 transcripts so I wonder how they will calculate it. My Green River College transcript was transferred to Bellevue College, got evaluated and all courses went down half letter grade (as of A down to A-). So I don't know if Nursing CAS will keep the points as that or things would change!? ?
Also, did you take PAX online or in person? ?

Oh that’s interesting! I didn’t see any points, I just calculated my own with the sheet that’s on the website. I also don’t remember having to enter all of my transcripts. The only thing I did online was the application and fee but I had to mail in my unofficial transcripts. I think they’d look at the transcript from the college you took the class at though. Also, my PAX was in person before all this covid stuff, but I’m pretty sure they ended up taking away that requirement for us so some of us didn't take it at all.

Thanks!! Still excited for you guys with the first nursing quarter coming up ❤️ Good luck!!

Do they count PAX test score in overall points and how does the PAX test affect the chance of getting in? All we need is to pass the test, am I thinking right?
Your PAX score does not affect your points at all, but you need to pass it to be considered for the program.

They had a 3.5 instead of a 3.8 for my stats. That bumped me to 105. I was told I jumped up 7 positions and also someone declined for another program. I started my background as well as the alternate acceptance. I took the liberty of starting my vaccine clearance to get a head start. I did not get any response for emailing the alternate paperwork. Since I spoke with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and she did not mention it I suppose it is received. She said that 5/29 we would be updated with our rank in the list so I am assuming you will hear the same.
How did you receive a 3.5 or 3.8 for a grade? I thought it went 4.0, 3.7, 3.3,3.0..? I have one semester grade that I'm confused about converting to quarter and how it would change my points. I got a B in stats at a semester school which is a 3.0, is a B different at a quarter system school?

At shoreline, they grade on a numerical scale. Some of my prereqs were from out of state so even if I got an 88% in a class, it would still be a 3.0 since the transcript only shows a B.

Hi Alissa!
I want to say thank you for being so active and providing helpful information for fellow applicants. I got in both shoreline and lake Washington Tech for Winter 2021 program. I am doing a comparison analysis via online research and by talking to people. There is no one better to chat with than the current students of the shoreline nursing program. I was wondering if I can connect with you and chat about how is the program going for you so far, especially the clinical placement portion. Thank you so much in advance!

I would love to talk about Shoreline's nursing program! I am not sure how chatting works with this site, but I can provide my email if there isn't a way to message on here.

Just called and I am number 2 on the alternate list. Fingers Crossed.
