Shoreline Community College Fall 2017

Published

Hello Everyone!

I am starting this thread to hopefully compile some extra information regarding acceptance into Shoreline Community College's RN program for Fall 2017. The application deadline was April 3rd, and acceptance letters are to be sent out 4-6 weeks after. Needless to say the suspense is not doing me any favors!!!

Has anyone else applied for Fall 2017? I have been reading on forums the minimum acceptance points by quarter (as far back as Fall 2011) - and it seems to range anywhere from 100.3 to 108.6.

Any info on number of applicants or when acceptance letters are being received would be greatly appreciated! Good luck everyone :D.

Hi all!

I applied for this Fall as well. I called the health occupations office today and was told they will be mailing acceptance letters this Friday May 5th or Monday May 8th at the latest. The HO secretary also said that there won't be email notifications of admissions decisions sent out.

Awesome news! I am glad that you found an actual date, will try and keep fingers crossed until than. :p

Anyone hear anything yet? This week has felt so long already!

Not a thing!

I'm not one to pester the office, but I'm definitely feeling the stress. Like a drive in freeway traffic all day, every day until I get the letter.

They do send rejection letters as well, right?

I called yesterday (Wednesday) and they said they are sending the letters today (Thursday).

Did your friend that got the e-mail recommend that you call?

Good one, Ghosty1981. It wasn't my friend who said that. A friend of mine told me that a fellow student of hers bragged about it. I told her that she might be lying but I wanted to ask here what other people are saying. She was definitely lying. Not sure about her motives though.

I really wish there was a way to let us know electronically (like through an online portal). With snail mail, it's hard to know when it'll come in. I keep telling people I'll know any day now but I guess realistically we'll be looking to next week, huh?

I would hope they send rejection letters too! Not everyone who gets accepted ends up attending, so they need to let the people know if they'll be on standby or whatever it is.

No worries. I was being too snarky there; I'm sorry.

I was #5 out of 8 alternate for spring 2016 with a 102.67. I couldn't claim my CNA points for that application, so fingers crossed my extra 3 points help. The response letters usually arrive the Saturday between the 5th and 6th week so that's this Saturday!!! Good luck everyone!

They do everyone gets a letter with your points accepted or not. There are usually 8 alternates with a week to review points and talk to advisors if there are any errors (because the tallying is done by humans). Everyone has a week to also send back their intention letter. So after that week if there aren't any errors made on applications, (the automatically hold open 3-4 spots for that) then the first round of alternates get a call before the mandatory orientation and know that they are in. Everyone is required to go to the mandatory orientation and be on time!! If you are late or don't go they go down the list and let alternates in. Then the remaining alternates have to wait right up until the day the program starts to see if anyone changes their mind. ( can you tell i had fun being and alternate lol)
