Hello Everyone!
I am starting this thread to hopefully compile some extra information regarding acceptance into Shoreline Community College's RN program for Fall 2017. The application deadline was April 3rd, and acceptance letters are to be sent out 4-6 weeks after. Needless to say the suspense is not doing me any favors!!!
Has anyone else applied for Fall 2017? I have been reading on forums the minimum acceptance points by quarter (as far back as Fall 2011) - and it seems to range anywhere from 100.3 to 108.6.
Any info on number of applicants or when acceptance letters are being received would be greatly appreciated! Good luck everyone .
Thank you for the timely response. Wow really just immunization records and health insurance? I was told after acceptance they put you through a full blown screening as though you were getting a job at a hospital. That must be right before clinical's for the facilities to allow us to practice?
Well there is a criminal history background check that you need to pay for... maybe that's what they were referring to? We'll have to see about clinicals, I know there's a clinical orientation but I think it'll be more like policies and procedures, workplace safety and OSHA guidelines, delineating tasks, etc. I doubt they'd have time and resources to have us all do a vision check and all you mentioned above. That's something for us to stay on top of individually through our own health providers.
@ErikaG Hey! I just finished my 3rd quarter AKA my 1st year of nursing after being waitlisted twice! Shoreline is an amazing program, a lot of people talk about the transition to first quarter being hard but I found my transition to 2nd quarter being more challenging. First quarter focuses a lot on assessments and the older population (determining what is normal vs abnormal when people age and how to identify that) I would love to talk more about it with you. You can follow my IG for nursing school! its @thevictoriagem_nurse!

Upon acceptance were there any type of tests done? (physical, u/a, hearing, vision, disability, ext). Or do they just require your immunization record?
