Shoreline CC Winter 2018

Published

Hi everyone who is applying for winter quarter at SCC! Thought I'd connect with you while we anxiously wait for our results in mid November. This is my second time applying and so I'm really hoping I make it this time (before I had a score of 102.5, now it should be 104.7). From what I understand, I am cutting it close to the previous quarter cut offs so we will see. Good luck to everyone else who is applying!

Ughhh!!! 6 weeks of waiting! It's only been one day and I'm already on the edge of my seat. Ha! So curious to know how far down the waitlist they went. However, not quite sure by knowing that info if it would help as each quarter varies so much. I am more hopeful as like you mention, fall quarter typically as a higher number of applicants. Keeping my fingers crossed! Like T Petes asked, does this info come in the mail?

snail mail!! honestly it is easier said than done but the best thing to try and do is push it out of your mind. I estimate the entire 6 weeks wait and last time that was brutal. The application is in and out of our hands, I find it best to leave SCC alone on the matter and let the news come if it is good or bad. But either way we will all be nurses someday so if it happens now, amazing, if not that is okay too! just keep going.

True true! I will do my best. Hope to check in with everyone as it gets closer! Will be happy either way. Gaining CNA experience now has been the best thing I've done and wish I would have started sooner. Fortunately, I'll have 3 more points for spring worse case. Can't complain:)

Agreed! will talk as time gets closer! can't wait to hear back. I am also currently working as a CNA, I am at Harborview Medical. We got this!! :)

One thing to keep in mind is that SCC Nursing is going through its regular accreditation right now, so all the staff is extra busy. Be understanding and let the process happen. It will be a while before you hear back, but you WILL hear from them either way. :)

Good luck!

Just keeping my fingers crossed

Hi all, I also applied to shoreline CC, my point sits at 104.15 and I was told the min was 103. But seeing your scores, I am kinda freakng out right now. Freaking out already waiting this long, and seeing your points is freaking me out the more. I hope we all get in tho.

Hello,

You should not freak out. I believe everyone is sitting around that number. I haven't heard of anyone yet hitting those high numbers, and if they did, God bless their soul for their hard work.

Let's keep each other posted on any updates. Few more weeks left to wait.

Thank you Seanypooh. I never thought waiting could be this killing. Hopefully it will be good news across board.

We are all in the same boat. I am literally counting the days. You will be fine. you did you r best, and you have a competitive score.

good luck

Well, I'm joining the panicked club:) I randomly check my calendar and today realized it's only been 2 weeks! It's a very nerve wracking process. I am assuming I have my calculated points at 102.9 this quarter (I will have 3 more points for spring.) However, I also just found out I can also apply to Bellevue for Fall start and UW is also an option. That said, there are options! Let's keep in touch!

Specializes in Postpartum.

I was just curious which classes everyone used for their "educational bonus" points? I used my medical terminology class and then PSYCH 101; hopefully I described those classes in enough detail to qualify!
