Shoreline CC Nursing Spring 2018

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am back for round two of applying:) I still have yet to review my application for Winter quarter and am hoping to do that before the Holiday. I was awarded 102.9 points this last go-around, but can confidently say that I will have 105.9 for Spring. I sure hope that is competetive!

Where is everyone else? It looks like this is that last cohort that will not be required to take the nursing placement test. AHHHHHH!

I look forward to hearing where everyone is! GOOD LUCK!

In the website Under "required test" it states that reading and sentence skills is required and doesn't mention writing portion. But under prerequisite checklist it states that reading and writing accuplacer is required. Does anyone know if we have to take the actual writing accuplacer?

I think sentence skills is considered the writing portion! When I signed up for the accuplacer, there wasn't an actual "writing" portion and on my application I just used the sentence skills score.

I had the same question about my accuplacer test results so I emailed the testing center. They told me that sentence skills is the writing requirement for the nursing application.

Does anyone know how many people are usually in each cohort??

I believe it is 32 or right around there:) this upcoming Fall they will accept students for both the full-time and part-time program. Will you be applying for Spring? :)

Just wanted to drop by and say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!

Which quarter did you start in, seanypooh? Hows the program so far? What's been your favorite and least favorite aspects?

Sorry for the late Response.

I hate to love it and love to hate it. But I love it

It's hard but rewarding.

Everything you have learned so far, A&P, Chemistry, Psychology, Micro and etc all ties in together.

I enjoy the team spirit aspect of the program and how everyone supports each other.

Anybody else getting antsy? I didn't realize they had pushed back the application deadline to January 16th so it looks like we probably won't be hearing back until the very end of the month. I know my point total is borderline and that's what is driving me crazy!

As always, good luck to everyone and I hope I get to meet you all in April!

Hi everyone,

spring 2018 was my first time applying to a nursing school. the past few weeks have been really stressful and yet letters will not be mailed until the end of the month at least, feb 27 will mark 6 weeks. I hope to get in and hope to see all of you there or on the field :) one of these days.

Good luck to all!!

Yeah I've been pretty antsy too. I didn't realize that they had extended the deadline either so I've had February 21st highlighted on my calendar this whole time! The 27th is only 3 weeks away though. I just keep trying to remind myself that 3 weeks really isn't that long. I hope to meet you all soon! Fingers crossed!

Hey Hady, welcome to our little group! Waiting is the worst part, somehow it doesn't seem quite as bad the second time around though. A bunch of us applied last quarter and the minimum was 105.t5 to get in so we're back for round 2. I'm still at 104.85 so hopefully the minimum is a little lower this quarter!
