Shoreline CC Nursing Spring 2018

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am back for round two of applying:) I still have yet to review my application for Winter quarter and am hoping to do that before the Holiday. I was awarded 102.9 points this last go-around, but can confidently say that I will have 105.9 for Spring. I sure hope that is competetive!

Where is everyone else? It looks like this is that last cohort that will not be required to take the nursing placement test. AHHHHHH!

I look forward to hearing where everyone is! GOOD LUCK!

Yes, MPaige5, it says in the program brochure: "Students are admitted to this program in fall, winter, and spring quarters. Students in the full-time program do not attend class during summer quarter."

Good luck to everyone. Winter 2018 was unusually high. But from what I have heard, 103+ points and is definitely the standard to be competitive.

There was 143 Applicants for Winter 2018 , Cut off was 105.65 points and the highest Applicant had 111 points.

Haven't heard back from Anyone in regards to reviewing my application from Winter. What is the best way to go about reviewing my application to see where my points were awarded and to make sure I have everything I need this next quarter? I have my additional employment verification form which will award me 3 more points, as well as an updated BLS card. Thanks!

Turning my application in on Thursday! Although now the wait will be even longer since I'll have the application in a couple weeks early.

I also bought a pre-RN entrance exam study book since I'll be applying to the part time program as well and I need to take that placement test. I'm finding that I know most of the stuff in there so I'm not too worried about taking it. Has anyone taken it previously? And if so, how was it?

Which exam are you talking about? ACCUPLACER?

Hey Ghosty,

No, Shoreline changed their requirements again starting with the Fall 2018. Instead of the Accuplacer test, you now have to take the NLN pre-nursing exam. I think it might be similar to the TEAS test that some of the other schools in the area require!

Hi Everyone!

I'm applying for spring quarter as well. If they accept my educational bonus points I will have 105.8 points. I was thinking that would be good enough but after the last couple quarters I'm not sure anymore.

I'm glad you guys have been talking about the application glitches. I was thinking it was just me. It won't show my HIV/AIDS certificate either. It also won't let me put in a math score for the ACCUPLACER part. Has that happened to anyone else?

I hear yA! We are right there with points...I am at 105.9! I could NOT believe how high it was last quarter...it is scary! Again, I will be so curious to see how this quarter turns out...there is just no way of knowing! At least I got all of the waiting anxiety out of my system for the next round...I can't handle that stress again! LOL However, applying for Fall this year wouldn't be too bad considering they will be accepting more students (for both the part-time and full-time program.) I wonder how the point system will work with the new test taking place of the Accuplacer? Maybe it will be similar in that you just need to place into "College Level." hmmmm

Is this your first quarter applying @dambler? Are you applying anywhere else?

What classes are you using for your educational bonuses? I used small group communication and medical vocab. I think as long as you can find a way to relate it to your success in nursing, you are A-okay!

Yeah, this is my first time applying. I am only applying to the SCC program at the moment. If I don't get in then I will start applying at other schools but Shoreline would be ideal.

I used Psychology 100 and Medical Terminology for my educational bonus points.

Hey Dambler,

Those are the two classes I used last quarter and was given the 4 points so you should get those as well!

That's great to hear! I think I'm going to be nervous no matter what but with more hope for the bonus points maybe I will be less nervous!
