In our ER we all get to wear black Tshirts they got for us on Fridays. Well they are U*G*L*Y. lol They are solid black with a pocket, and have ELMC ED on the breast of the pocket, then EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT in block letters on the back. A lot of people have hoodies, or zip up hoodies that have the ED printed on the back. i'd like to buy some stuff, buthave no clue where to look for something more............appealing. Any ideas? i remember when i first became a nurse, there was a candy store at the Mall that sold "Naked Brand CLothing". They had shirts and apparrel for every occupation. The nurses one was "Naked Nursing Your Butt is Ours" and had 2 syringes criss crossed. it was SOOO funny. :rotfl: Now i have no idea where to buy any of that stuff anymore. lol GOD i'm old! lol

Much as I like T shirts and do wear certain ones to work in the ED...
I'd just hate to have to tell a nice 76 yr old lady that her husband was being transferred to the OR for emergent repair of a triple A in a "Naked Nursing" t shirt. (Ditto for the Spontaneous Abortion of a very wanted pregnancy, or discussion with the mother of a suicidal teen)
Since the T's they offer are ugly, why not get someone who can draw to design something with a little more flair. At one place I worked we had a contest, and came up with a very cool design, which we voted on-everyone wore those, including the MD's.

SORRY i left that part out. I'd just like something like that for home and everyday stuff, not work! lol Yeah that would give someone an OPINON of me wouldn't it? lol
I honestly don't have time to recruit anyone to do anything like that. I'm just looking to snag something different to wear! lol but great idea!!

:chuckle We were talking about t shirts this week at work....our favorite design would be one that had on the front..... "ED Trauma" with an EKG tracing under it. On the back, it would say..."You gotta be tough, if you're gonna be stupid!"
That is the motto of ER's universally! Now we just need to get the shirts made!

My favorite is not suitable to wear to work unless you wear it under scrub shirt. It says " I am an Emergency Dept nurse, I am here to save your live not kiss your A#@$

We are in the process of ordering sweatshirts, hoodies, t-shirts for our ER - they come from one of the local uniform stores that does some embroidery already for our hospitals - like our docs lab coats. Would that be an option?
