So I know that shingles can be spread to babies and immunocompromised people, but I'm wondering if that would include lymes disease? Is a person with lymes considered immunocompromised?
LOL then why do we put our shingle pts on droplet. never ceases to amaze me.
Seriously, I am scared to death of catching shingles. I had the vaccination last year (my insurance covered it at age 50) but I have recently seen really young people with it (25-40) Eyes, face, throat, one woman lost half her vocal chords to it. I am wondering if they will change recommendations for vaccination if the trend continues. I don't know if shingles is reportable/being followed. I have also seen many pts under 50 that have had it TWICE; second time not as bad.
brrrr. Gives me the shivers.

Exactly what the link I posted above explained, complete with reference to the CDC. It's consumer information regarding the shingles vaccine
