U.S.A. California

Hello! It's that exciting time again!

:)

I'm starting this thread to support, advise, and inform each other about this residency program. If you don't mind, share a little bit about yourselves.

Graduation date: Degree type: healthcare experience: Any special skills or certificates:

Thanks!

I graduated back in December 2012. I have a couple of months of experience as a RN and a year experience as a CNA. I graduated with a ASN and am currently working on my BSN. This will be my 4rth time applying to Sharps NNRP!!! I have the basic certifications (BLS and ACLS) I applied to Grossmont's PCU and telemetry/MS.

Specializes in NICU.

I've applied numerous times as well, right when the application opens. Not sure what they're looking for! I have a number of certifications, a BSN, I volunteer as an RN, and I had a pretty awesome preceptorship. I've heard Sharp is VERY hard to get into though, so congrats on those of you that scored interviews and/or positions in their residencies!

I still haven't heard anything back from SMB L&D and was told they would let us know by Friday. I'm assuming this is a bad sign for me. :/ anyone else hear anything either way?!?

gikg--I interviewed for Grossmont PCU last week. I thought we would hear back by Friday but they said no later than Thanksgiving. Hopefully they will notify either way.

Congrats to everyone that is getting hired. Sharp is very hard to get into and I personally have no idea how they chose. Plus their interview was hard! I thought I was so prepared and then again did not do well. It is hard to stay positive when it's something you want so bad but are rejected.

Has anyone else heard anything?? Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Hi guys. I interviewed with Sharp last week for the Acute care track. Four great nurse managers were in the panel. All scenario questions, nothing behavioral at all. They told me I would hear from them either this past Friday or by this Wednesday. Just got a call today and I got the job, however they put me in the PCU track instead of the Acute track. I didn't ask why since I was kind of shocked lol

Good luck to the rest of you! You are all in my blessings!

This was my third time applying to Sharp, so third time is the charm!

I hope everyone is doing well and do not loose hope! I graduated last December 2012 so it has been a rough 2013!

xoxo

HeckySolano, congrats! thats so wonderful! Do you happen to know what the start date is for the PCU track rotation? I am assuming most of the Sharp hire dates are the same and wondering what Grossmonts is.

Congrats Heckysolano!! Did they give you any other information? That is crazy that you interviewed for acute but got hired for PCU. I wonder if its because all of us that interviewed for PCU had bad interviews or something. What time did they call? Did they mention if they were calling everyone today? I'm sure they would contact everyone on the same day. Bummer for me. I'm gunna assume this is a no for me. Just wish they would call saying no so I don't wait around anymore with my hopes up:/

Oh and was your offer for Grossmont or Memorial?? @Heckysolano

And I think they mentioned the start date was February 17 or 21? I can't remember exactly.

Hi. It was for Grossmont. Yes the start date is Feb 17 or 21, I forgot lol.

I got a call at around 3pm. I messaged the HR rep last friday and asked her about when would I find out if either I got the position or not, and she said that ppl would get notified by this Wednesday. There may be some delays still she said. I think is due to references and such process.

Linds, I hope you get a call, you are in my blessings! For the rest of you, please do not lose hope. I know it is easier said than done, but I know it is a frustrating time. I graduated back in Dec 2012 and it has been a crappy year so far.

Please keep your heads up, have faith and keep applying! I know the right job will be out there for all of you! You are all great nurses already :D

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

Keep in mind that this is a short week d/t Thanksgiving, and many people are taking the long weekend. So that is going to cause delays in checking references, processing applications, notifying people, etc.

They called this morning and said no. It's so frustrating. She said apply again cuz it's great I made it this far but I don't even want to go through this process again. Oh well I guess. Congrats to everyone else! Maybe you all can give us some tips and let us know how it goes.

Hello everyone,

Just touching basis. Congrats to those getting an interview & sorry for those who didn't get the job offers. My heart pours out to you because it a frustrating time when you were so close :(

FYI: I haven't recd a response back to MB NICU since the clinical screen form & this is the response I recd today from the recruiter as I inquired if everyone moving to the interview process has already been contacted. Response--> "They are in the process of contacting the candidates that they want to interview. They will be interviewing and if they need more candidates to interview, they will continue to contact the candidates".

Hope this helps if you haven't recd a response yet, as I am wondering how many they are hiring & if anyone has tips for the next future new grad openings please share. It's been a yr since I graduated.

Hi everyone!Just wanted to check in and see if anyone has heard back from Sharp Chula Vista? I interviewed on Dec 6 and have been trying to patiently wait for a call but the anticipation is killing me! Wanted to see if anyone has heard ANYTHING? Thanks! :)
