Sharp new grad residency winter 2011-2012

Hi, I just applied to Sharp new grad residency for winter 2011-2012. Anyone else applied?

After I sent my application, I didnt get any email confirmation at all. Anyone else having the same issues?

Also, can you apply to more than two units? I know during the application they ask you for your top two choices.

Anyway.. goodluck to all of us who applied! I hope we get at least an interview.

:lol2::lol2::lol2: I received an email last Thursday from the recruiter for the ER Grossmont New Grad Program. It stated :

Good morning,

"Thank you for your interest in the New Grad Nurse Emergency Room Program at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Your portfolio documents have been received and currently being reviewed for further consideration. If you are selected to move forward in the interview process you will be contacted via email or phone no later than the end of the business day on Friday, November 18, 2011."

They wanted my academic transcripts and any other info (letters of recommendation, SNO info)!

So, I emailed her back my transcripts, all the letters and student nursing organization stuff I have done in the past few years!! I hope this is a good sign.

Has any one else heard back from them yet!?!?! Just curios if they wanted more info on candidates than they asked for :confused:

horef, dont give up yet! did you apply specifically to that unit? im sure you're still in the running! i havent heard anything yet either!

I applied to M/S at Grossmont and Memorial, and haven't received an email or anything...Maybe since those programs start in Feb/March that maybe we'll hear back in November, maybe even December about interviews (wishful thinking, probably)

Just to ease some anxiety, I applied for the fall program last July and was called for an interview in September. Sharp takes a really long time to make their calls as they are thorough with their search. I already went through this with them twice before and both times it took a couple of months to get a call. Hang in there!

what type of experiences did you have? all i have is my clinical experience.. how did it pan out for you?

Hey, Horef, please dont get discouraged...from what I've heard its a looonnnggg process:( I'm sure it will work out fine for you!!

I have had my LVN for 8 years now, and have 6 years of Urgent care experience and 2 years of acute pediatric care. I have ALWAYS wanted to work in the ER once I got my RN and so I tailored everything to that (resume, supplementals, etc..) Well, hopefully, they will call me back for a phone interveiw by Nov 18th!?

I have my ADN, ACLS, and know some RN's who work there (not sure if this helps!?!?)

Please, keep us all in the loop on everything :)
