SFSU Spring 2020

Published

Is anyone applying for spring?

Let's check in here to keep track of the admissions process.

My stats:

GPA 4.0

TEAS 97.3

Healthcare experience: 10 years as an in-home caregiver

No multicultural experience or other languages. That's definitely my biggest weakness.

If they time this out like previous cycles, interview invitations should go out in mid-October and program decisions in late November.

Good luck, everyone!

I got invited for an interview on the 11th

Does anybody know if they sent out interview dates for the BSN program? I know there's a mix of people applying to various programs on this thread so I thought I'd ask for some clarity!

I'm nervous, too! I wonder if the power outages will impact this process? I know the city will still have power, but it might impact people commuting in (like me). I'm planning on building in a lot of extra time to get there.

As far as preparing, I bought a new outfit for the interview, haha. My husband, who is really good at interviewing, suggests bringing to mind different situations where you have had a chance to employ problem-solving or other good qualities. Just have them in recent memory so you can pull on those stories if a question calls for them. Good luck!

Me too! I bought a new outfit and I’m also super nervous. I called and she said the whole process will not take more than an hour!! Hopefully that helps. Good luck everyone :)

I watched the BSN rn info session last Thursday! They informed me that interviews are group styled, usually 30 mins long!

Yes! About 3 on the admissions panel, and 4 applicants I believe!

I didn’t mind the group interview style! We had about 20 min to talk before we went in and that was nice. The moral support of being in it together was helpful.

Tips- parking in the garage (lot 20, I think) was pretty easy, but give yourself time to buy your parking pass and make your way to the building. They gave us a few minutes to ask questions after the interview, so if you’ve been wondering about anything specific about the program, have those in mind.
