SFSU Generic MSN for Fall 2010

Published

I went to their website today and found that the nursing application has now been posted. Due date is January 15, 2010. Now it's time to bug my professors for another round of forms and letters. I have one letter, but need the form to get filled out. It's so embarrassing to go back to the same people. I feel like I owe them the world. What's the most number of requests anyone has asked one person?

Anyway back to the application itself. On it you have to choose a Graduate Program Emphasis. If my goal is to become a Diabetes Educator, should I choose Adult Acute CNS or Maternal/Child CNS, or should I choose Public Health? Does anyone know if we can change specialties mid-stream?

Thanks.

Thank you, Mel. That actually makes more sense. Congratulations to you!

@ LN17

I my email says I start in Fall 2010.

congrats to everyone who got in (^_^)y. And good luck to those who are still waiting.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! To all of you who got in! You must be so happy/ proud! Nice job!

I was wondering if anyone has heard back from the Women's Health CNS program. It seems most of those who received emails are with the Maternal/Child cohort. I have received zero emails, zero mail, and zero update on the admission status website.

I'm wondering if different programs are sending out notices at different times?

Thanks!

A few hours ago I was emailed and told I am on the waiting list.

Does anyone know how one can find out what number/rank they are on the waiting list?

Nevermind my last question, I found out to email the admissions analyst for that information. Thank you.

I just checked the website and learned I did not get into SFSU ... Well, you can't win them all! I'll be going to Samuel Merritt in the Fall.

Good luck to everyone, especially those of you who are waitlisted - and congratulations to those who got in!!

I got denied today on the website. It also said they'd send me a letter with reason(s) I was denied. I guess I keep volunteering and take the prerequisites for Samuel Meritt's Program and also apply to USF, and try again for SFSU. Kinda bummed, but the odds are pretty high that one gets rejected, unfortunately. Good luck for all you others on this journey! ;)

I got denied too....But good news I found out this week I was accepted to USF for the summer term starting May 24th...Talk about last minute!

I've been waitlisted. However, I have no idea where I fall on the list. Basically the email says that if I don't hear from them by July 20, consider my application closed and to try again next year. I'm just happy I didn't receive my 4th denial of the year. :)

Good luck to everyone who made it in to another school that has opened its doors to you and welcomed you in. For those that are still waiting for acceptance, your time will come and use these extra months to gain experience and knowledge that will help you down the line.

For those who were accepted at SFSU, hopefully my number will come up and I'll see you on campus!

Sugar, your number will come up - based on years past most of the people who were waitlisted eventually do get in! Things really will work out for us! Think positive. If you ever find out where you fall, please personally email me.

I wish everyone the best. Erik, you are set and your future is bright. Jenn, I am so glad to hear about USF! Better late than never, and things work out for a reason. Peicesman, keep volunteering and getting A's. Your future will find you.

Congratulations to those who got in. :smokin: If you need me, I'll be on my horse flying a tattered flag of white.

And for those of you whose dreams are this program, allow me to share something that inspired me, against all odds:

“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.” - Shel Silverstein

I was waitlisted last year (that was my second year applying), and just found out yesterday that I didn't get in this year...not even waitlisted. Go figure.

But, I've been accepted at two schools in NY, including NYU, and am happy to have a good excuse to move to NYC! :D

I've been trying to get in school for three years in SF, so for me it was time to move on. Best of luck to everyone who's still waiting, and congratulations to those who made it in!
