SFSU Fall 2012

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone!

Is anyone applying to San Francisco State's program for fall 2012? I haven't seen any threads on it... Just wondering since apps are due in a few weeks!

Oh that is great to know guys!! And in reference to the 6 years, I was told that that is after already completing the prerequisites. I was shocked! I totally would rather go to SFSU due to the $, but if its going to take that long, i don't know :-/ It may have just been an exaggeration. I will be doing plenty of research in the next few days and will let you guys know. Thanks again!

And USF nursing is 7 semesters as a transfer. The same as SFSU i believe.

AmberKu,

I think I will be in your Nursing 120 class if you and I decide to go to USF. Well, if I decide to stay. LOL.

I was hoping to get into SFSU :(

Let me know if it is true about the whole taking up to six years.

Have they told you yet that a group of students from each co-hort get to do all their clinicals at UCSF?

:)

Oh that is awesome! I will let you know if i do decide to! and Yes i heard about the clinicals at UCSF, which is a major reason why i am thinking about taking out loans to go to USF. Because it would make getting a job there much easier. Oh, and if you dont mind me asking, why would you rather have gotten into SFSU? and why are you leaving the USF program?

Thanks :)

I honestly wanted to get out of the area. CSUEB is really close to me, and SF sounded pretty good. SFSU is more affordable than USF, so that's one of the reasons I wanted to go there. SFSU also has a lot of certificate programs for nurses, such as holistic nursing.

I saw that you said it would take you 7 semesters to finish? When do you start if you chose USF? Because I started this Spring and that is semester #1 out of 8.

If you chose USF we might be classmates.

But I think I'm staying at USF.

:)

Any one can help me pls I'm frustrated right now BON send a letter telling me I need to have may clinical cases forwarded from the school the big problem my school don't have a copy for it and I don't have a copy of it either so any body can tell me what to do.plss.I feel so hopeless right now

Yes, the program is definitely 7 semesters! thats what they told me at the orientation. And I agree about the money. That is a big reason i want to go to SFSU. But i mean i think that what you pay for at USF will pay off in the end. Which is another reason why i may want to do USF instead. I mean we would do our clinicals at UCSF! that will totally help us get a job there later! And at USF you get to start right away in clinicals. I don't know if you can at SFSU. oh! and i wonder why SFSU is only 5 semesters and USF is 7????

And NO WAY about being able to do holistic nursing!?!?!?! OMG that would be a dream of mine. Do you have any info about it? or know where i can find any? That is awesome :) I would totally do that!

Well that is if we get chosen to be at UCSF. Lol. We don't actually start clinicals until Jan 2012 though, the NURS 120&170 are like leadership/theory based classes.

Here is the website for holistic care at SFSU

San Francisco State University : Holistic Health Certificate : Education in wellness, alternative medicine, integrative medicine, integrative health care, complementary medicine, healing: Bay Area, California : College of Extended Learning

You should chose which school you will attend depending on where you want to go with your career.

Avill,

You are awesome! That is such a great program, the Holistic one! That definitely helps me with my decision process. Because you are totally right, i should chose my school based on what I want to do after!! :) Thanks again for all the help! I wish you all the luck in the world

If you do chose SFSU I'll miss out on making a new friend. lol

Good luck!

@ Ms.Chia and tiger07: I am #14 on the waitlist, so yes...I am continuing to crochet my purple and gold scarf!!!

My gateway still looks the same, and I accepted my very generous financial aid package; However, I did not see anything regarding my alternate major---SFSU Gateway still has me as a BSN applicant.

How does your Gateway look, if you are also on the waitlist? My alternate major is Health Education.

Sunshiine, Tiger07, Ella.moore, Rinaxxcat, chichibaby---congrats! I hope that I will find my fate soon---If there is an orientation in July, for Fall starters, could someone tell me the date of that? I need to plan my summer vacation plans with that in mind---if I get so lucky!

Just got my email...finally. Number 11 on the waitlist. @sevenofnine, and everyone else on the waitlist, fingers crossed!

I really hope they accept around the same amount as last year.

Whoo Hoo~I got accepted into the Spring2013 semester!!!

Now I am looking at the response form..does anybody know how we are supposed to send it back? Print out and mail it or by email or fax? I don't see a number for faxing tho..

Congratulations sunshiine:yeah:

We are officially classmates now!

I got confused by looking at the response form tho..how are we supposed to send it back...by email?fax?mail?or what....
