Hi there! I applied for the SF State BSN Spring 2023 program and I couldn't find a forum so I thought I'd get it started here.
Does anyone know when decisions are released or if there will be interviews this round? I've heard varying reports on whether or not those were happening.
Good luck to everyone who applied! Hopefully we all get good news!
Just wanted to leave this here for anyone’s future reference…
4.0 GPA across all classes
96 overall TEAS
CNA license though no experience working
~160 hours community related volunteering
~120 hours health related volunteering
~200 hours indirect patient care employment
And accepted to SFSU BSN Spring 2023. Everyone’s pathway looks a little different. Congratulations to everyone!
I got in! But, I’m going to decline admission because I was also accepted into East Bay. Hopefully someone who is waitlisted will get in. Here are my stats for future references:
4.0 Cumulative GPA
88.7 TEAS
250+ hrs of community service
CNA license with 980+ hrs of work experience.
I wish you all the best of luck with your nursing journey. If you didn’t get in, reassess and reapply! This was my 3rd time applying, so don’t give up!!
I got accepted!
Here’s some stats:
4.0 PreReq GPA
90 TEAS
140+ HR Volunteer / Internship at Hospital
CNA License with 800+ hours of work experience
Accepted my admission offer, just wondering now when they’ll change my major from my alternate major to Nursing. Others, do let me know when yours are updated. Good luck to everyone else!
Hi!
I have received acceptances from both CSU East Bay and SFSU for Spring 2023. I am completely torn between the two. Considering there are so many knowledgable Nursing students here, I was hoping you could inform me about either of the two programs. I want to make my final decision tonight.
Let me know any pros/cons with SFSU and CSU East Bay.

Hi there!
First, congrats on your acceptances! I too was accepted to both schools, but ultimately chose east bay simply because of its proximity to my home. I live in the east bay and the commute to SFSU for school and clinicals would be terrible at times!
SFSU’s program is 2 years, while EB is 2.5. The NCLEX pass rate is currently higher at SFSU (88%) than EB (80%), but the results may be a bit skewed bc EB had about double the amount of students who took the exam this year. Both schools have great professors and relationships with local hospitals for clinical placements. They both are about the same price as well. It’s a hard decision, but the good thing is…you honestly can’t go wrong either way!
Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it.

So I’m kind of new to the SF State platform, but are we supposed to be enrolling for nursing classes that are on the nursing roadmap ourselves or are we waiting for further instructions from a counselor or email to guide us with that.
And what classes are you trying to enroll in now? Some general ED classes needed for graduation?
