SFSU BSN Spring 2023

Published

Hi there! I applied for the SF State BSN Spring 2023 program and I couldn't find a forum so I thought I'd get it started here.

Does anyone know when decisions are released or if there will be interviews this round? I've heard varying reports on whether or not those were happening.

Good luck to everyone who applied! Hopefully we all get good news!

Nope! I am going nuts

:(((((( me too

Ugh SAME! Now that registration is open for classes I'm really getting antsy!

Since the deadline to apply for Cal state for Fall 2023 is on November 30 and we haven’t heard from SFSU yet I think I have to fill out the Cal state application ? what about you guys? Are you going to apply for Cal state or do you have a second choice to attend for Spring 2023?

I don't have a back up nursing program, but I'm in a back up bachelors program at SFSU already so I'll just continue on with that I guess and re-apply for fall 2023 nursing program in January.

I'm also going to stop by the nursing office this morning after my first class to see if I can shake out any info for us!

I am a touch thrown off as I got admitted to SFSU under my alternative bachelor's program and they keep telling me about the impending deadline to accept admissions but it is like super soon and wouldn't seem to make any sense to force you to accept admissions prior to knowing whether you were admitted to the nursing program..

Yea agreed. I don't quite understand their process and why they can't just say that decisions will be out on a specific date prior to registration. It seems counter intuitive and like something that could absolutely be fixed. Makes me want to work there and fix that situation. Obviously I don't know anything about how they do it, but it is a really bad candidate experience to be sure.

I agree. I emailed them about accepting the alternative major and they told me you have to accept it, and then if you get accepted to BSN we will change your major. So I just accepted their admission.

oh god, how annoying

Thank you for pursuing that, obviously my making passive assumptions was a stupid thing to do LOL ayayaya sf state is killing me

I already accepted admission somewhere else too! This better not require a deposit

Do you think if I didn’t get into BSN at SFSU it is better for me to admit to my alternate major while I apply for the fall semester? And then if I get in for Fall 2023 could I change my major? My alternate major is Biology.

I declined my admission from Stan State. My first and only choice right now is SFSU and as you said they are killing us ?

That's my plan. I'm going to just continue on with my back up major (nutrition and dietetics) and apply for the fall. The only caveat is that once you have completed 90 units, you can no longer apply for the nursing program you have to finish your bachelors and then do a post-bacc program later on.

Anyway, hopefully we will know very soon!
