Hi there! I applied for the SF State BSN Spring 2023 program and I couldn't find a forum so I thought I'd get it started here.
Does anyone know when decisions are released or if there will be interviews this round? I've heard varying reports on whether or not those were happening.
Good luck to everyone who applied! Hopefully we all get good news!

Hi!
I applied for SFSU Spring 2023 as well. I emailed them in regards to the interview, but they said they aren't going to be doing interviews and the decisions will be released in late November or early December. ?

Hey! They stopped doing interviews after the pandemic began, I believe. Now, they review the personal statement questions in lieu of interviews.
Last Spring, decisions were sent mid November so we probably can expect it to be around the same time this year.
Good Luck!!

Has anybody checked the portal? I heard it updates before they send out an email. Mine doesn’t show anything yet
I talked with the SFSU nursing office this week and they said that decisions would be delivered via email mid-November / early December, so planning on the status changing around then! Let's hope we have something really great to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. ?

Thanks Rachel for making this forum.
I also applied for the Spring semester and I have many anxieties because I don't have any job experience or volunteer jobs!
Last year they told students the same thing about the time to release their decisions, and they released their decision exactly on November 15th.

We are getting close now... Anyone have a strong opinion on SFSU vs. Samuel Merritt?
I realize it is a radical difference in cost... Also, SFSU has a smaller cohort (40 vs. 65).. What about quality of education/clinicals/etc? Just trying to get some insights (although I am pretty skeptical about me getting admitted to SFSU as it is such a small acceptance %)
I have two close friends who did the post-bacc accelerated program through SMU and they both had great experiences. One when through the ELM program for NP and the other went just the RN route.
I honestly don't know much about the quality of the SF State program, but it is certainly cheaper and it is the correct proximity for me with kids, etc.
I don't think it is a bad idea to have a back up plan as the SFSU program admits so few students. My plan is to finish a bachelors in nutrition and then apply to SMU for the accelerated RN. I guess we'll find out soon!
Good luck everyone!
Thanks, for sure! I have currently been admitted to SMU and have put down deposit etc but if I by some small chance get into SFSU I am going to be so CONFUSED haha. Good luck to everyone!
Hi! Any updates?
No emails and no change on portal. Ironically though I woke up today with a admissions email from them regarding my admissions for my alternative major and in my fuzzy just woke up mind I thought it was an acceptance letter for the nursing program and I flipped out and woke up my husband and then immediately realized my error ??
