Hello all! I am new to this forum and had a lot of questions about the application process for nursing school, specifically SF state's program.
I'm planning on applying to their Spring 2017 program, but have heard mixed reviews about it. Is there anyone currently in their nursing program that can shed any light on it? I've heard that it's very difficult to get classes, making it almost impossible to finish the program in the advertised 2 years (takes more like 3 years). I've also heard that due to the high demand of classes and lack of availability, students end up transferring out.
My current GPA is 3.57 and I scored a 81.3% on the TEAS. I also work as a Medical Assistant for 4 years now, ranging in different types of specialties/clinics. My grades aren't as competitive as what I would like it to be, but I'm hoping that my work experience makes up for it. Should I retake my TEAS test to try and get a higher score?
If you're applying to the program, put your stats below!
Thank you all for your input!
Did you guys get any info about the student orientation? Because I submitted the response form with intent to enroll, but then I pressed the back button. So I don't know if it could've deleted the response. Should I submit it again just in case?
I didn't get any info about orientation after submitting my intent to enroll, but 2 days later, I did get an email from admissions to formally accept offer. I had to login to mysfsu and go to student center, then click on admissions to formally accept. A hard copy of my acceptance will be sent in the mail. Maybe info about orientation will be in there
Hey there,
I got accepted as well, and I am clueless when it comes to computers/applications. So, first step, I submitted my intent to enroll into the Nursing program, then we were to go to the "Student Center" and accept the "undergrad degree" for spring 2017. My question is am I on the right track? Was the part where I accepted undergrad degree suppose to indicate Nursing? God I hate computers.
BTW my stat wasn't even great.
3.7 gpa overall
3.8 gpa for the sciences
and scored a 79.3% on the TEAS
However, after the interview, I felt like a superstar!
