I wish all nurses were hot stupid nasty sluty jackwagons....Then every day I would be in heaven...

I wish every male cop, fireman, EMT, Military Man were the same...... Living through fantasy is great.

You've certainly found this thread intriguing caymedic! There it was sent to the deep freeze on March 17 feeling lonely, just like 'Woody" did in Toy Story 1 ... brought it out to thaw and then returned every few hours just to make sure it's OK, lol.

Nurses eat their young . . . and now firemen, too? I hope someone warns the police before it's too late!

I'm kinda thinking I might have better things to do with my time than write derisive posts telling other nurses to "get over themselves" and "get the stick out of their butts" and proclaim your open-mindedness when the OP simply posted an e-mail address to "express your displeasure". You aren't feeling the pleasure - why not just move on?

So then you must have better things to do with your time then comment on me telling some people to get the sticks out of their butts, right? Oh, I guess not. And perhaps OP had something better to do than post the YouTube Commercial and talk about how she feels it belittles nursing. We all have better things to do with our time.

She doesn't need to share a link to get others to express their displeasure. That's not so open-minded. If she was displeased, she could have emailed her displeasure and moved on without needing to prove it to others.

The argument goes either way, really.

I thought this ad was funny in the end, but also found it more offensive than the Hooters one. She might have had big boobs but at least she was "fixing" the problem and not just "pulling the curtain". I agree with previous posters that the men look a lot lamer in the ad than the woman.

I am still much more in arms about House (even though I love the show) getting in his little "that is what nurses are for" jabs and the night nurse who gave a hand job on the first episode of HawthoRNe (which I don't watch).

To the OP: I do commend you on bringing up a subject that does have an impact on our profession, as well as images from other professions (sexy cop, fireman, secretaries, bosses, etc). It can be frustrating to simply give a voice to something and have it get broken down to pieces. However it does show that in the end we are an extremely variable society who chooses to categorize people (especially love the "beautiful = stupid" which appeared in this thread on the backs of those chastizing generalizations) in order to keep the sheer magnitude of our world in some kind of order. I have been sexually harrassed as a night nurse by pervs who think we are sex kittens, I have also been laughed at by middle eastern men who don't believe I have a license, as well as talked down to by older women who didn't think I had a brain cell because I wasn't timely enough. It's all in perspective. For some this ad will ring true to the injustices they feel in their hearts, to others it won't, and in the end I think it is just the way it is.

I wouldn't say that it goes either way, mainly because the topic was not the relative merits of how people spend their time, or an attempt by Jonathan to compel people to agree with him, or ridicule those who think a company portraying nurses as dumb bimboes is actually a good thing. The entire point of these posts is to take jabs at nurses for what they think, because you don't.

It wasn't even about fantasy dress-up play in the privacy of your own home. Oh sure---- some things weird me out like baby rattles and pool toys --other than that as long as nobody gets hurt. . --- I saw this really cute Naughty Zombie Nurse outfit last year and now I can't remember which %@#$! catalogue it was in!! :nurse:

I'd boycott the restaurant simply for airing the dumbest, most unimaginative ad I have seen in a long time. Seriously, washing powder ads are more entertaining! I hope you all realize it's an insult not only to nurses and doctors, but to the intelligence of American consumers in general....

I've never eaten at one (I bet that surprises you). When I was younger and worked in restaurants, they had a bad name. The treat their workers like dirt. Kinda had them crossed off my list since then.

The restaurant I worked at had an article about hooters in the break room with a sign next to it "At least we never did this."

The article was about a waitress that had a lawsuit out against hooters. She won a contest, a national beer sales contest. The waitress who sold the most beer in each state was entered into a drawing to win a car, a Toyota. This woman won the sales part for her state and the drawing.

When the ceremony/time came to give her the prize, they showed up with a shoe size box and took her picture with it. Inside was a Star Wars action figure, Yoda. It was a toy, called yoda. "Toy-yoda". She sued and won.

I couldn't believe they even tried that.

If womean with big breasts work at Hooters, do women with one leg work at I-Hop?

Want to know something ironic? I am out of work right now, fired for a really stupid reason. I made a joke and said "Hooters is hiring" The only reason why it's a joke is because I make a horrible waitress. Good nurse, bad waitress. Otherwise, I would consider it. They make good money.

I just think the people realize that isn't what nurses really do. It's just a little spoof. We have those Johnson and Johnson commercial that shows what nurses really do.

You were fired for saying "Hooters is Hiring"? That's against the law! That's against the Free Speech law!! How could they do that? Did you say it to someone who was physically unable to wear the little short shorts and tank top?-- and when he went in for his interview and asked him to reach over his head to clip the order on that wire pulley they put way up there so people can get a more holistic eyeful of the goods he couldn't reach it?

Anyway I realize now that my posts were all wrong. I knew 99% of the others posting replies to poor trying-to-do-the-right-thing socially-conscious Jonathan (who only wanted to be a messenger for like-minded folks) said pretty much the same thing you did. Nurses! What's not to like?

My only defense is that I thought it was Don Quixote Day™. I know-- funny, huh? I totally ran out of Aricept - forgot what month it was - then my son came in all ****** off - turns out Jiffy-Lube doesn't carry Aricept anymore - what a week!
