Sex ed OMG

Today I started my growth and development classes (AKA sex ed) it was going great then at the end of the class I asked if there was any questions, I got a ear full!!

I can not believe how much more these kids know about some sex acts then me, I am only in my 20s but I have never heard of some of the thing, is it me or is it the kids now a days?

Any scary stories about teaching sex ed?

Well, when I worked second shift, I would walk my dog as soon as I got home, right around midnight. I'm walking along, and start hearing these sounds. At first I thought maybe it was some animal, but as I got closer and closer, I could make out two human figures. In the front yard of a townhouse community. Naked and doing the horizontal polka. As cars drove by and I walked within a mere few feet. They didn't care. Definitely not adults as I've seen them getting off the big yellow bus.

Wish I was surprised.

I do get asked "where is the best place to have sex?" (Yep.) I usually answer with "with a consenting partner, one could choose to have sex anywhere, but it is illegal to have sex in public. A place is also best if safe and hygienic, as well as enclosed and private, for your own privacy and the respect of others."

And if you get arrested, parents will find out real quick what you were doing...but that is left unsaid ;).

What happened to cars? Do kids still "do it" in cars?

More than we wish. A colleague at a sexuality summit this week just shared data with me that in a class of 30 9th graders, 9 will have had sex, 4 will be currently sexually active, and 2 will have had more than 4 sex partners.

Funny, I do get asked "If someone is a virgin, they don't have an STI, right?" Problem there is the word "virgin" makes very different things to different kids. Many consider oral sex not "real" sex and that they are still a "virgin." A "virgin" that may or may not have been exposed to HPV or herpes.
