Hi everyone..
I just scheduled my exam awhile ago and finally taking it this September 15, 2008.
I was looking for the September 2008 Support Group and found their is none in existence so i figured to start one.
I am currently on Saunder's 4th Ed. and some other references like, Exam Cram, Illustrated Study Guide for the NCLEX-RN Exam, Prioritization, Delegation Assignment by Linda LaCharity and other Q and A books by Saunder's and Mosby.
But i am focusing more on Saunder's, i just like to have other references to understand topics which i am weak in.
I wasn't a very good student before or wasn't that much focus with my studies while in school. That's why i am very anxious now with my upcoming exam.
Now I am giving my best in my review and hoping and praying that i may pass it on the first try.
I really want and dreampt of becoming an RN and finally i am a test closer to becoming one.
Good Luck to us and God Bless.

I am taking the NCLEX sept 19th it will be my 3rd time taking it and I am really hope I can do it this time!! I feel I know my content but I think my problem may be that i am reading into the questions to much so I am trying to work on that!! Please keep me in your prayers!!
hi there! welcome to the September group!
we'll inculde you in our prayers!:wink2:
That would be fun.I go on www.nclextestanswers.com when I'm tired of reading chps. from
Saunders/Kaplan. They have nclex study games (puzzles, fill in the blanks,...). but I still get bored. Yeah, games are more challenging with another person.
Good luck to you
I'm doing the NCLEX review by the NCSBN on learningext.com, they actually intermix word jumbles into the sections your studying. Since i'm not to good at word jumbles without hints (and the hints aren't really helpful imo lol), it does me no good.
I'm still working on a way to actually remember the common classes of drugs. I'm doing questions, I'm just NOT doing it every single day. I know myself, I'll srive myself nuts doing this every day. I do every other and set 2-3 hour blocks of time. Otherwise I can easily spend all day on the computer and not learn a darn thing.
I'm the first? Haha! Can't believe it! it's 5 days to go! NERVOUS!!! It's exhilarating, oh no I hope I will pass...We will pass guys..
you will do fine. Look at each question like it is your patient for the day and what will you do for him/her with the information in said question. Yeah it will be the most patients you will every take care of, but if you look at it not as a test, but actual patient care...it may help.
Good Luck and for goodness sake get some sleep this weekend will ya
I'm scheduled for Sept 23rd, but now I don't know if I should change it as I will be starting a new job the week before. Where I am, if I take it an fail (not gonna happen, but IF ya know) I might lose said job. I have until November 5th, but definately DON'T want to wait that long. Also my new employer will pay for a Kaplan review, which I am thinking of taking them up on once I actually start (Sept 15th).
I really don't know what to do, I don't feel I'm ready to take it any earlier I don't usually stress over tests, but this one it driving me nuts.
hi again ya'll..its me again..
we'll i just want to vent out how hard it is to study when all the people here at home are talking..
its so frustrating because i thought going here in my sis place in TN, would make me study and concentrate more. but i guess this is the biggest mistake that i made. its so noisy here. im struggling.
I should have stayed in CA.
huhuhu!
I understand, but I have it opposite. I can't study if its too quiet, my mind wanders. I have to have something going on in the background that doesn't directly involve me, like the TV or the radio.
I also can't study every single day. I never have been, I hope this doesn't cause me too many problems. I sometimes wish I'd been able to take the NCLEX immediately after taking my exit HESI. But of course you have to apply for licensure, register for the test, etc, etc...after waiting for your school to send in the fact you finished the program. But I digress hehe.
I read about all of you who are able to do 100's of questions a day and study every day. I can do the questions everyday, just not the study part. I'm weird I know.
Good luck to all the september test takers. Im taking my test on sept 10th. I studied from Saunders 4th edition and now im doing kaplan 7 exams from the cd. I'm still scoring 56% and 68% on the exams. I am not giving up I know i can do it and if i can do it you all can do it. We are going to be successful.
I tried to get the suzzanne 4 plan but I think its too late now for me. I read the all the chapters in sauders and doing the cd. Is there anyway someone can tell me what the second, third and forth step is with the suzzanne plan. Just curious.
thank you and good luck to all the test takers.
